"…Hana?"
Nao felt his face fill with the color red.
He knew that he was blushing― he was now aware of what he was feeling.
"Um, Nao…"
She said his name, making him flinch in response.
"I don't know what I did but… you're welcome?"
With a smile on her lips, she clasped his hand even more.
Maybe she actually needed to tell him how she felt―
or maybe if she told him, he might think she's a nuisance.
It was the first time she felt this conflicted.
Perhaps she was rattled of the thought about what might happen if Nao and Sumika reconcile.
"You see, Nao―"
Words came out of her mouth without her thinking.
"I don't want you to leave me alone."
Only then, did she realize what she said and covered her lips with both of her hands, letting go of Nao's.
"I…I'm sorry! Never mind that…"
Hana was very flustered― to the point where she might cry.
Nao gave her a smile,
a very warm one.
"I won't do that―
after all,
you're a very special person to me, Hana."
He looked straight at her―
as the abyss in his heart slowly started to disappear.
