Nao tilted his new glasses upwards.
He could see his old playground from the distance.
He was in his father's car,
and they were moving households.
It would be his last time to see this view.
Although he could see again,
it didn't alleviate his sorrow.
"Nao, dear..."
His mom asked, leaning behind her to see his face.
"Are you okay?"
Nao nodded quietly, not a word escaping from his mouth.
"You didn't say goodbye to your friends..."
His father told him, in a matter-of-factly way.
"..."
He could only stay silent.
After all, his father merely stated the truth.
"...They hated me."
He said quietly.
"They didn't—
Why would they?"
His mother looked around the view of their soon-to-be former hometown.
"They told me that they hated me...
...that they wanted the old me back."
He clutched a page from his sketchbook.
It contained the drawing of a blooming sakura tree,
with four persons below its leaves.
Along with the words:
"To Seiji, Kouta, and Sumika".
It was supposed to be his farewell gift for his friends.
In the end,
he was never able to give it to them.
「the fossils of yesterday.」

What did you all think about the three characters that were introduced in this chapter? Were they interesting? Did they lack something? I would be really glad to hear about your thoughts on them!
Well, that's all from me! Thanks for reading~!
