"Do you think…

Do you think they'd forgive me?"

He asked.

Sumika sighed in response.
"Idiot… of course they will."

She paused, letting go of him.

"Do you know how many years we regretted everything?"

Nao stared at her in shock, albeit with blurred vision.

He could only see faint glimmers of her tears― but that was enough to keep him calm.

After all this time, maybe he wasn't the one who took the situation in the worst way possible.

He put back his glasses.

"I'm sorry," he calmly stated.

"I hope there comes a time… when we all meet again."

There was a hint of anxiety in his words.

He still wasn't ready to see the others.

The wind calmly danced as the sun went over the horizon.

"…Maybe that time will come soon."
Sumika replied, in a hopeful tone.

"Shoot, I have to go… I still have to finish these."
She looked at her wristwatch.

Nao helped her pick up the papers.
And for a moment, they glanced at each other at the same time.

"S…Sumika. Will we meet each other again?"

She put on her cap and glanced at the setting sun.

"Yep…

I hope!"
