The weeks go marching on and on
on and on, on and on
The weeks go marching on and on
Straight into the springtime!

((or "on into the win-ter," for southern hemispherians))

((or "but the weather never changes" for those near the equator. This round blue marble is fascinating))

Seasons are less important to modern, city civilization than they were a few decades ago. Now even those in temperate regions can get watermelons all year-round, hothouse strawberries, lettuce and tomatoes in all weather. No longer is the BLT or berry salad a summer tradition we long for through the bean sprout and dried fruit winter.

It's fascinating to think that what we consider standard used to be luxury. And then to think of all that has to happen in order to make this so. ((So much conflict involved there you could write a quadrillion stories and all of them fraught with peril!))

This can be a great way of adding flesh to paper. What do your countries, your villages, your people consider luxurious, and how does that compare to their neighbors? To the people in charge? To their Grandma's "When I was Your Age" stories? Dad said he used to buy--

H'okay!!! Back to our scheduled mission objectives!

Ferret-bird is our Victim of the Month! So join Kendrick the Dragon on the snack pile, kick back with your favorite cuppa, and bask in the glory of your work.

Etelkasan  should be returning from the village sometime this week. I'm hearing great things about the repairs and the setting up of their new comm towers. Keep leaving treats to guide her on the trail! ((Just not chocolate. That's bad for foxes))

For the rest of us!

In-Line comments and general meanderings are welcome to all comers (but keep off the grammar grass unless it's glowing neon and blocking your brainwaves, 'kay?)

When you return from exploring around the Worsted Wood Camp...

--Do "the woods" present a believable hostile environment for the characters?

--Does the insight into Dara's background lend more credibility to his current motives?

--Do you think the characters are making rational decisions that are clearly explained in the text?

--Are there parts of the plot that seem random or forced?

Remember to be kind, Crafty, and communicative. Oh, and let everyone know if you find a good patch of mushrooms or a game trail before Kendrick gets hungry. Never let a dragon go hungry.
