Your POV:
"The Caged Child?" I asked in response.
"Seance...? What are you talking about?" Maki asked, "cut it out already."
"Y-Yeah! This is no time for jokes!" Tenko exclaimed, backing up Maki.
"Oh, I'm serious..." Kiyo replied, "this is for our investigation."
When Kiyo said that, I felt a chill go up my spine. Was he actually being serious about this. A seance? That sounds like something for a cult. And why would he recommend this for our investigation. We don't even know if stuff like this will work. I never got the chance to test out the Necronomicon.
I asked Kiyo what he meant when he said that this would help with our investigation. His response was that if we performed the seance, the spirit of Angie could tell us who killed her. It would bring this case to a swift close, according to Kiyo.
My thought on the matter was the fact that there was a resurrection ritual, and now we are being recommended a seance as well. It was slightly weird to me on why Kiyo thought a seance was the only way to find out who killed Angie. It was very strange to me.
Kiyo explained that a seance uses literature from the world over, and that it's a genuine experience. Kiyo also informed us that he has performed in a great deal of seances in his time as well. That was very cool to me, but it also brought on suspicion.
Knowing all of this information could probably be a good part of the investigation.
Kiyo told us that we could use this seance to see if the so called transfer student did the murder. Himiko agreed to helping, and suddenly Kokichi rushed in, saying he would help too. He was getting bored apparently.
Tenko decided to volunteer herself because she didn't want Himiko to do it alone. Himiko was still looking very sad about what was happening, which was understandable.
The so called participants of the seance was now decided. It was Kiyo, Kokichi, Tenko, and Himiko. They all were going to participate in this weird seance, but there was a problem according to Kiyo.
There needed to be five people to do the seance, but they only had four. That was a slight issue when it comes to how the seance should be done.
Kokichi in a sad and disappointed tone of voice said that Kee-Boy could come too. He was talking about Keebo, and he was still trying to pick on him despite all that's happened.
Keebo was upset that he was being treated as a burden and being forced to participate. I would be mad too if someone forced me to participate in some sort of ritual like thing while being treated like someone who isn't cared for in life.
It's probably the worst feeling to have. To help someone, and feel like a burden while doing so. In that regard, I felt awful for poor Keebo. I really did.
"So then, we need a place to perform the seance... Where shall we do it?" Kiyo asked.
"How about your lab, Kiyo," Kokichi said in response.
"No...in order for The Caged Child to succeed, the room must be as dark as possible," Kiyo explained in response, "my lab has windows, so turning the lights off won't make it quite dark enough."
"Then...how about the empty rooms?" Himiko asked.
I knew right away what she was referencing. The three empty rooms that were also held on this floor. Those were quite dark, except for some candles in the room.
"You mean the three empty rooms on this floor, right?" I asked in response, "I mean those rooms do seem pretty dark aside from lit candles."
"Exactly... there aren't any windows there, so if we blow out the candles, it should be pitch dark," Himiko said, agreeing with my notion.
"Sure, I'm fine with that," Kokichi said.
I rolled my eyes slightly at that. What was this guy not okay with? He seemed to go wherever he wanted, not being nervous or scared just for the thrill of it. It made no sense to me on why he was this way, but I knew that I needed to be careful around him.
On a lighter page, Tenko agreed with Himiko's idea. It was nice that Tenko would do all of these things for Himiko. It was nice...
So with that, it was decided that one of the three rooms would be used perform The Caged Child seance.
"However...these are three empty rooms. Which one shall we use?" Kiyo asked.
"Um...the middle room. The middle room's always best for stuff like this," Himiko said in response.
With that, Kiyo said he'd make the preparations. He told us that he'd need our help carrying equipment. I refused politely because I wanted to stay with Angie. I told them that I still wanted to investigate.
Rantaro told Kiyo that he'd help me with it as well. That left Shuichi, Tenko, Himiko, Kokichi, Keebo, and Kiyo who was getting the stuff from the Ultimate Anthropologist Lab.
All I wanted to do was stay close to Angie, so I could be there when she woke up. That was my goal here.
Once everyone left, I was alone with Rantaro in the room. He smiled at me lightly as I took a look around the room to see where I'd investigate first.
"You seem very determined," Rantaro told me.
I held the device in my hand, still active and drawing out the camera wavelengths of the room.
"I am... I have to investigate until Angie wakes up. That's the only way it will make me seem innocent," I replied.
"Alright, I'll be here to help you though, so don't think you have to bear this alone," Rantaro told me softly.
"I know..." I replied with a small smile, "you're making me feel better about investigating this room... thanks..."
"It's no trouble... I will always help the one I love," Rantaro told me in response.
When I looked around in the room, I noticed a few things. The first thing was something that was piercing my effigy in the chest. This effigy was hung by the door, upside down. There was something long sticking out from it.
I almost instantly recognized it. It was the golden katana from Kiyo's Lab. I wondered what part of the case this linked to. The katana was here, and for no reason.
The set up was awfully weird too. All of the effigies were hung upside down, and I had no idea why. I don't know if Angie did this for the ritual.
"Whatcha looking at?" Rantaro asked me.
"Well this is a golden katana from Kiyo's Lab. It must have some sort of connection to the case," I explained in response.
"You're right, but I don't like the look of that katana stabbing the effigy that looks just like you," Rantaro replied, "maybe we should take a look at the full sword."
"Alright, I'll pull it out," I told him in response.
"If you say so," Rantaro replied nervously.
I grabbed the hilt of the sword, slightly tugging on it. I wiggled the blade, and it started coming loose. Once it came loose, I was met with a shocking sight.
