Chapter 30

"Can I take you somewhere?" He asked
"Does it have hope?" I asked already beginning to feel hopeless about the situation
"Yeah it does" he replied
We drove for a while then took a turn in front of a giant building that says Salvation Ministries International church
"Here it is" he says
"Cory," I was about to continue and he countered me
"Just come with me" he says
We got down at the parking lot and he held my hand in his into the church

"Good evening Mrs Mary" He greeted a lady at the entrance

"Evening Cory" she replied and she looked at our hands intertwined and smiled at Cory and we walked away with Cory returning the smile

"She's been asking me to get her a grand child" he said and I smiled
We walked to the second row and then sat at the pew.
"Here we are, right now I'm going to sit a bit away from you and you are just gonna talk to God" Cory said and I was dazed

"Cory I can do this in my room if I wanted to" I said and he nodded.
"Well you are not in your room and before you say anything again, I know God is everywhere but coming here always helped me so I was hoping it could help you as well, just talk to God like he is your best friend and believe he's listening to you and will come to your aid" he said
"I'll be sitting right there" he said again pointing to the other side of the church and I nodded.

I honestly did not know what to say, what Cory says I should do sounds more like having a chat with God than praying.

"Dear God, it's Allison Hale, or maybe not, it's just Allison. You see the thing is I don't know whether I'm still me, God She was my motivation, muse, role model, she was the one supposed to be cheering me when I finally get the life of my dreams I had my future plans wrapped around her and finding this out seems like it all impossible now and as for Stella needs my help or your help or help in general,I know she needs help and I don't know how to help her, she's-, you know what I'm tired and even I need your help, I don't even know maybe what I'm saying makes sense but I know you understand. God please help me and i honestly don't know if this was a prayer but like Cory said to tell you how I feel, help me God, I need you" I said to Him and started crying in that moment I honestly dint know what to do but I did feel like I needed to talk to Stella

***30 minutes later *******
"Hey" I shook Cory to wake up, he was sleeping already
"Hi, how do you feel now" he asked
"Honestly I don't know how this works but I feel a part of the burden lifted off my shoulders and I seriously feel the need to talk to Stella.

"Okay good, do you Want to talk to her now?, I could take you home if you want" he said and I nodded
We were walking back to the parking lot when he realized he forgot his keys
"I forgot my keys at the pew" he said
"Okay I'll wait here" I replied and he turned around to get them
"Good evening Ma" I greeted Mrs Mary as she walked towards to me
"Evening my child" she said smiling
"Dear, make sure you hold those hands as much as they hold yours, he needs a friend too" Mrs. Mary said to me and walked towards the gate.

Is Cory going through stuff I don't know about I mentally asked myself. You barely even know him my mind replied and I nodded like I could see it.
"Got the keys" he said and we walked to the parking lot.

We got in the car and zoomed off

"Music?" He asked
"Nah" I replied
"You never talk about your family" I said staring at him and I noticed the way his shoulders dropped and he heaved a sigh.
"What do you want to know?" He asked
"Anything" I replied

"They live in Nigeria, I have a younger brother Derin and we live a simple happy life" he said
"And that's supposed to be an introduction of what your family is like" I replied

"Details" I said again
"There's not much to know about them" he said and I could almost feel like he was avoiding the question so I let him take his time to decided whether or not he wanted to say something about them.
"We're here do you need a minute or two for yourself" he said as he drove to the front of the house
"Nah, I'll speak to her right away" I replied
We got out of the car by now it was 12:05am and I knocked on the door a few times but no response so I called Stella and she was down in no time.
"Hey, you are back" she said in her husky sleepy voice
"We need to talk" I replied hugging her
"What's up honey, everything alright?" she asked
"Can we take a seat? and Cory you can go to my room" I said as we sat at the island in the kitchen area
"Stella, why didn't you talk about it?" I said and she looked disappointed and I began to wonder if she knew about it.
"Aal I'm so sorry Philip and I were supposed to tell you about it but we have not just had a perfect time to do that" she said
"Wait what are you talking about" I asked confused
She pulled out the drawer in the kitchen and pulled out a white paper I honestly was hoping this wasn't a threat letter from Anika. Reading through the letter my eyes got wet.
"You're pregnant" I said and she nodded
"Congratulations" I said again and we hugged
"A boy or girl" I asked
"Actually were supposed to find out next week" she replied wiping tears from her eyes.
She took my hands in hers and placed it on her tummy and I felt a tiny little bump.
"So what were you talking about?" She asked and then I began wondering what to do, do I speak to her about the moments of joy or remind her of her pain
Dear God help me I prayed

"Hmmmm, Stella I went through your brown box I know it's none of my business but I was honestly searching for my brushes and " I was about to continue
"You had no rights to do that okay, you don't pry in my privacy if I don't get in yours, And that's it that's the problem I have with you, you never do stuff with the interests of others" she said already shouting
"Stella calm down I didn't do this on purpose" I tried telling her but it fell on deaf ears
"Ouch" she winced holding her lower abdomen
"Stel are you okay?" I asked and she shook her head
"Get Philip" she said I and I raced upstairs
"Philip! Philip!!" I knocked
"Hey, Allison what's up?"
"It's Stella, she's in pain" I said crying and he ran downstairs by now Aiden and Cory came out of my room and also ran downstairs
"we were talking and she started feeling pains" I said still crying
"Aiden get my keys, Cory hold the door" Philip said trying to lift her from the couch in a bridal style
"Aiden where are the keys?" I shouted hoping he heard me from upstairs
"I can't see them" he yelled back
"Check beside the brown box" Philip yelled and my heart skipped a beat hearing the brown box.
"Got it" He shouted and ran downstairs with the keys
"Aiden get the car, Allison get my phone it's on the couch and Cory keep the doors still" Philip said carrying Stella out of the house
We all got in the car and Aiden drove as fast as he could.
"Take the left" Philip said
"After the U-turn take the right" he said again

"This isn't the way to the city hospital" I said seeing he was following a different route
"She's registered somewhere else" Philip replied and I nodded
We took the high way and then passed through the Oceania bridge and then arrived in front of a Mercy Wood Hospital.
Cory got down first and ran to get help from the nurses and they came out with the stretcher
"Babe, i promise you're going to be fine" Philip said as they wheeled her inside
"Philip what happened?" A woman who seemed to be in her 40's said and I supposed she was the doctor
"I honestly don't know, just make sure she's fine" he said
"Philip this is what I warned about" the woman said again stopping us all at the entrance of the emergency room where Stella was wheeled into
"Philip what's she talking about" I asked already impatient and he sat there beside the emergency room in tears and then I realized this is big.
