His Point Of View Just Once More - Sleeping Beauty

~Dracule Mihawk's POV~

I believe it's been around a couple of hours since I decided to visit the library. My objective was to find another novel for me to read but for the life of me, I couldn't discover anything.

I didn't understand what was wrong with me today. Everything has just been so bland. I couldn't really describe it. The day just wasn't a very joyful one.

After being here for so long, I forced myself to simply grab anything to read so I can kill time. I stretched my arm and opened the book with another, already starting to read the first chapter as I made may way to the couch that was sitting in the middle of the library. It faced away from me but when I got a look of the front of it, I found it was already occupying someone else.

To be honest, I actually flinched when I saw her laying on the deep red colored couch since I thought I was alone. I'm sure I didn't hear her come in so she must have been in here from the start.

I stopped myself in my tracks when I narrowed my eyes at her face and realized her eyes were shut.

She's asleep.

And I just now noticed.

It might be because I tried my best not to keep looking at her since that would usually cause some awkwardness between us. I exhaled and lowered my hand beside me and allowed myself the desire to look at her without no worry.

Why whenever I see this girl, she's sound asleep? No matter the time of day, I find her sleeping anywhere in the castle.

I grinned amused and shook my head at her odd behavior.

The girl was laying on her side while her head laid on her hands. Her legs were crossed together and were folded behind her. She was wearing her usual sweater and jeans pants, having her hair fall behind her, but had a suborn strand laying in the middle of her face. That strand strangely bothered me because it sat so thick right in the middle of her face. I couldn't even see her face properly because her hair covered most of it.

I noticed her wiggle her nose in irritation, a sign she's not liking that strand either.

I placed the unwanted book I held on the coffee table and walked closer to her. I lowered my hand and gently brushed away her hair off her face, tucking some behind her ear. My eyes were glued on her exposed face. I didn't realize that my hand was still brushing her hair back and petting the side of her face.

I just paused and felt everything freeze with me. I couldn't help but steal a glimpse of her any time I could and I wasn't going to give up this opportunity.

The girl looked so peaceful and relaxed, gently breathing back and forth majestically. I grew amused thinking of her expressions when she's awake verses how she looks now. From before, the girl looked gloomy and poisonous. The girl was thickly coated with awkwardness that I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable for the slightest things. She tries to hide her emotions greatly and I appreciate the gesture, but I can see right through her. Now, as she sleeps carelessly, the girl actually looked relaxed for a change.

Also, I noticed how much thinner she has become, having her cheekbones slightly come out. She has also gotten lighter, almost as light as I am which was shocking because she was so much tanner than I. It wasn't a problem with me. I didn't care what color she was but I felt a little weary of how this came to be.

I couldn't blame it in lack of sunlight because she has lived here for more than a year but just this month I noticed a change. I couldn't describe how different she looked to me. It wasn't only these slight changes. It wasn't anything unattractive but just weird. A perfect word to describe how she looks now was weak. The girl simply looks tired and out of it, bored and empty.
