When I write about you I write about what we could be
These situations aren't real but a part of me wishes they would be
Then I remember the last time I saw you, not even a month ago.
Had we both been alone you would have allowed me to approach you
Maybe, you would've approached me
But you didn't. You turned away.
I like to think that we have a connection. I'd like to think that you'd allow me to be yours one day.
When we're not alone, you have a role to play
And that role cannot allow others to see the side of you that shows itself to me.
What a stressful way to live
Yet I am having to live in those shoes.
They fit and they're tight
And I understand.
But I also wish you'd allow yourself to be you even with other people being around us.
