An Inner Battle
My first struggle.
The first words I spoke to tell the world,
That I exist. If I open up these old books
I know that there's a mess
It makes me cringe but I wipe the dust of the pages and write them again.I keep the old version for the world to see who I was
And I place the new version in newer books for the world to see how I've bypassed these struggles. But then I get to a poem that shows a struggle I still have
And I reassess myself.
How I can fix the problem that I still have from ten years ago?Too much time has passed for me to be engulfed by my poor self esteem
There's more time for becoming a new me.
An Inner Battle, the first words the world heard to learn about me.An Inner Strength is what the world will see
Now that I've taken the time to never let others define me
Even if the world doesn't know what I am
Or who I want to beThe world will find out
That it's not about who I was
Or what the world thinksIt's about who I am
And who I decide to be.
