We speak a language of understanding
The experiences you have, trigger my own
It hits me where I dare not go
But it must be a sign
These are doors I've nailed shut
Yet somehow, they still open.
A gust of reality rushes in and says
"It's time."
The memories of who I was, surface.
They present themselves to my face.
They tell me about their love and pain and betrayal
And I feel it.
What hurts me more is the fact that
I am not the only one
Who says, "Never"
Or "Never again"
Luckily, the only times I feel the word surface
Is when I wake from some dreams
But me and the person that haunts my nightmares...
At least, I am also their 'never again'.
