A War, Never Ending

Eager to release myself from my chains

I take a pen and begin to write the pain

Into the thin sheet of paper, emotions flow

As the ink splatters, so does the aura it releases

That luminous blue, only seen by few

But felt by many as it is published online

Some hear it, this voice of mine

Others sense it, a deep agony that they know all too familiar

As I write, the chains clink

Closer to the end of my thoughtful speech,

The chains become brittle and I am free

For now, there will be nothing that can pain me

Until the next chain latches

And reminds me,

That this war is never to be won

But the battles are what I can achieve

A tiresome fight that I continue to beat

What goes to say that if the war is won,

I'll be breathing. Or is the only way to end this war...

By give in and allow my enemy- the deeper part of myself-

To win one battle. Only one.

As I was told in the past.

It only takes once.

In this war, is that the case?
