1. Students must live at the Ultimate Academy for the remainder of their foreseeable future.
2. Once a murder takes place, all surviving students must participate in a class trial.
3. If the blackened is exposed during the class trial, they alone will be executed.
4. If the blackened is not exposed, all remaining students will be executed.
5. If the blackened survives the class trial, they will graduate and re-enter the outside world.
6. The killing game and class trials will continue until only two surviving students remain.
7. "Nighttime' is from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The dining hall and gymnasium are off-limits at night.
8. Violence toward Monokuma, the headmaster of the Ultimate Academy, is strictly prohibited.
9. Monokuma will never directly commit a murder.
10. Your Monopads are very important items. Please do not damage them.
11. The body discovery announcement will play when three or more students discover a body.
12. With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore the campus at your discretion.
13. Students who violate these rules will be immediately exterminated by the Exisals.
14. The headmaster may add new regulations to the list at any time.
"What is this? This has to be a joke... right? I won't.... I won't.... I refuse to kill anyone," I muttered to myself.
"The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles School Regulations... So these are the rules..." Ryoma said to himself.
"I do not understand why someone...would force us to do this?" Kirumi explained as more of a question.
"But the rules are pretty cut and dry. This game doesn't seem like it'll be boring. And plus (y/n) is very interesting!" Kokichi explained, his arms casually behind his back.
"Thanks for trying to say I'm interesting, but I know that's a lie," I replied.
"Nee-heehee! You're pretty sharp (y/n)! By far the sharpest tool in the shed!" Kokichi exclaimed in response.
"Please stop lying..." I muttered.
"You can't tell me what to do (y/n)!" Kokichi cooed.
"Please lower your voice. It's ruining the atmosphere," Kiyo complained.
"Hey, hey! What does the sixth regulation mean?" Angie asked cheerfully.
Angie then looked at her monopad, going to the sixth regulation and reading it out loud.
"The killing game and class trials will continue until only two surviving students remain," Angie read, "only two surviving students? What would be the reason for that?"
"Perhaps it's because you couldn't do a trial with just two people...?" Shuichi explained in a questioning manner.
"Nyahahaha, I see, I see. You're so smart, Shuichi," Angie said cheerfully.
"Q-Quit screwing around... Killing game... School Regulations..." Kaito muttered, "to hell with all that crap! Who'd go along with something like that!?"
Kaito then raised the arm that was carrying the monopad. He looked pissed, and it seemed like he was going to smash his monopad on the ground. I looked at Rantaro who looked like he was going to say something.
"Whoa, hey now, don't do that," Rantaro said, his hand in a motion that told us 'wait a second', "school rules say you can't break it."
"If you violate the rules, then the Exisals will dispose of you..." Maki added.
"I don't care about the rules! No way I'm gonna play this messed up game!" Kaito exclaimed.
Rantaro placed his hands on his hips, and smiled as if he was frustrated about Kaito's behavior.
"You can't just break the rules Kaito. If you want to break the monopad, then you're saying you want to get killed," I explained, "so if you don't want to die, then I suggest you don't break that tablet."
"This isn't about "playing" the game. It's too dangerous to disobey him now. (y/n) is actually right. If you don't want to die, then don't break the monopad," Rantaro explained.
"Forget about him! Just means one less dumbass for the world to deal with!" Miu exclaimed.
"Miu stop it alright..." I told her, "everyone has a right to be upset in a situation like this, so stop trying to pick fights with others!"
"Hey! Who you callin' a dumbass!?" Kaito exclaimed.
"What did I just say!?" I exclaimed in frustration.
"HEY!!! QUIT FIGHTING ALREADY!!!" Kaede shouted.
Everyone looked at Kaede. She looked very upset about the fighting. Kaito looked very startled.
"Whoa! Wh-What the—!?" Kaito exclaimed.
"We shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves. Right now, we *need* to work together. Honestly... I'd probably be more inspiring if I played a song than gave a speech... Chopin's "Military Polonaise" would definitely help unite us!" Kaede exclaimed.
I felt myself smile a little. I felt inspired by her words. I felt inspired to say something to help her... I wanted to say something... help unite everyone...
"Yeah, I could get behind some bolognese, and I don't even like meat or tomatoes," Kokichi replied with a joke-like comment.
"I agree with Kaede, too! We must remember who the real enemy is!" Tenko shouted, "Master told me that strength must always be aimed in the proper direction!"
"A-Anyway...you're all panicking too much... Just...stay calm...like me..." Himiko said, shaking like a leaf.
"Wow! You're shaking so much!" Angie exclaimed.
"Even I can't handle these intense vibrations! And trust me—I've got loads of experience!" Miu exclaimed.
"Anyway...why don't we work together and search for an exit one more time," Kaede suggested.
"But...we looked all over that wall and there wasn't a single hole," Tsumugi muttered.
"Now wait a second. If there's no opening in the wall... then how did we get inside these walls in the first place?" Kiibo said.
"...Oh, good point," Tsumugi replied.
"That means there must be an opening somewhere! We just have to find it! Whoever trapped us here wants us to fight each other... So let's show 'em that we're not gonna let that happen! We're *not* gonna fight each other! We're gonna work together! Okay!?" Kaede announced.
Everyone was silent. If I was going to say anything, now was the time. I took a deep breath and said these words.
"Full Metal Alchemist..." I muttered.
"Huh?" Kaede asked in response.
Everyone was looking at me now. I felt scared. I felt like everyone was waiting for me to continue. Sweat rolled down my face due to how nervous I was. I gulped lightly.
"Full Metal Alchemist... it's an anime I love.... it's about two brothers who lost something because of trying to resurrect someone using alchemy. The two brothers stick together, work together, no matter what. People try to kill them... they never stop working together. They've faced many powerful opponents, they won and continued moving forward. They even motivated other people. For example, Ling Yao, Lan Fan, and Fu... they came into Amestris looking for immortality, but they helped the brothers Edward and Alphonse because they motivated them. This is what I think of when I heard Kaede speak. She is right... we shouldn't fight over petty name calling. Focus that energy on the motivation go get out of here. We may be different. We have different personalities... different talents, but even so... we can still work through the rough patches, and help each other escape... I just hope I can help you all achieve that. So please let me help motivate you all to do your best to find an exit!" I explained in a long paragraph.
Everyone continued to stay silent.
'Maybe using an anime reference went too far...' I thought.
Everyone stared at me... including Rantaro. His eyes were widened slightly as if he was shocked about everything.
"Why are you all so quiet... sure I was taken aback by what (y/n) said... but did we say something wrong.?" Kaede asked.
"On the contrary. You both made your cases with such succinct aplomb that we've been rendered speechless... twice..." Kirumi said with a smile.
"Heh... I was going to say the exact same thing, but without the Otaku and music references..." Kaito muttered, "you're both right! We can't give up so easily!"
"Let's split up and try to find the exit!" Angie exclaimed, "Ohhhh!" Atua gives us strength!"
"I must admit... I admire your spirit Kaede," Rantaro said with a nervous smile, "but (y/n)... you're spirit is also very inspiring. I was shocked that you said what you did. I must admit I'm proud."
I blushed lightly from embarrassment. I looked to the side in attempt to hide my face.
"Th-Thanks I guess... I just wanted to help too... considering how useless my talent is," I replied, pouting and blushing lightly.
"Oh, Wait!" Gonta announced.
"Nyeh...? What is it? We were just about to get started," Himiko replied.
"Um... Maybe it not matter much, but... Gonta find manhole earlier. In grass, behind school building," Gonta explained.
"A manhole?" Kaede asked.
"Gonta peek in. See big, underground passage. Think maybe it exit... sorry. Is probably not so simple," Gonta replied.
"Y-You gotta mention important stuff like that much faster!" Tenko shouted.
"Gontapeekin! Seebigundergroundpassage! Thinkmaybeitexit!" Gonta exclaimed in response.
"Wait, not like that! You're talking too fast!" Tenko replied.
"The boiler is behind the school building. We must corroborate Gonta's claim at once," Kirumi told us, "Gonta, please lead the way."
"Okay! Everyone, follow Gonta!" Gonta replied with a smile.
Everyone left the gym. Just as I was about to follow after them, Kaede and I were stopped by Rantaro. I smiled and waved at him lightly.
"...(y/n), Kaede, that was pretty cool back there," Rantaro told us.
"Wait what was..." I asked.
"Yeah..." Kaede responded, agreeing with me.
"The way you both changed the mood completely. Seems like everyone looks up to both of you," Rantaro explained.
"L-Looks up to us? C'mon, that's ridiculous. I'm sure we just spoke from the heart, is all," Kaede explained.
"But Kaede influenced me to speak from the heart... I wanted to help her... so I said something... I always want to help others in anyway I can," I explained in response.
"So it does come naturally to you (y/n)... and to you Kaede as well. That's even more cool. And the fact that you both inspired each other..." Rantaro replied, then suddenly smiled a creepy-like smile, "you both have what it takes to win."
"What...?" Kaede asked.
"I was just thinking, what you both said back there would have pissed off whoever's running this. They definitely don't want us holding hands, workin' together..." Rantaro explained, "... They're going to come for you Kaede, (y/n). With everything they've got. I'm a little worried about you both. Kaede... you're so straightforward. And (y/n), you're kind nature adds to it. You are straightforward when you want to be, but you also lack in self confidence. We will work on that later."
"Rantaro wait!" I exclaimed, running after him.
I knew he was right. There has to be someone pulling the strings. Someone controlling that teddy bear. I guess Rantaro's words rubbed off on me from earlier. I have to try to help everyone... that's my purpose. I have to find who's behind this... the one controlling this game... the Mastermind...
Hey guys! The update is a little late today because of school and sub-zero degree Michigan lol. So I wanted reader to be inspiring to everyone so that a certain event will happen in the next chapter. Basically reader wants to help everyone, and Kaede inspired her to try.
The bad news is that I didn't get any fanart for this week.
My solution is to redo the same prompt, because I really want to see what you guys think will happen.
Prompt 3(reprise): "Kokichi and Reader-Chan's first freetime event"
I wish you all luck and I'll have the next chapter out next week! Ciao!- CRUSIFIXdroid
