Mistake?

I put my hair in a messy bun and put on some mascara. I looked in the mirror at my maroon halter top bikini. I smiled satisfied with my look.

To Shawn: I'll be down in a sec :)

I smiled down at my phone. I put some shorts and a crop top over my swimsuit and grabbed my beach bag with all my essentials. I slipped on my sunglasses and grabbed my keys.

I ran out the door, locking it behind me. I ran down the stairs of my apartment to find a familiar black Jeep Wrangler.

The window rolled down revealing my best friend.

"Come in darling." I rolled my eyes. "I'm coming, I'm coming." I hopped into the passenger seat and put my seatbelt on.

"You sure you got everything?" I looked in his direction with a smirk, "Yes Mom." He shook his head fighting back a smile.

"You're gonna pay for that one later." He put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway.

"Sure I will." He shrugged. "Don't believe me now, but you will later." I laughed at his comment.

"Let's just listen to some music."

I turned on the radio and Youngblood by 5sos was playing. I gladly began singing all of the lyrics.

Shawn smiled, "I love this song." He rolled down the windows and joined my singing. By the time we reached the beach we had practically lost our voices. Luckily Shawn is off of tour for a couple months.

He shut off the engine and walked to my side, opening the door for me. It wasn't an unusual thing, Shawn has always been a gentleman, even when he doesn't have a reason to be.

I reached for my bag, but he took it from my hands.

"A man doesn't let a beautiful young lady like you, hold her own bag." I felt a smile creep onto my face, along with a blush.

I smirked as I came up with a comeback to hide my embarrassment, "Then why'd you take it?" His mouth opened from shock.

"I am a man Y/n." I laughed, as we began walking towards the water. "Sure you are Shawn. If you're such of a man why do you still sleep with the light on at night? Or want me to comfort you during thunderstorms? Or sleep with Leo? Or-"

"Okay, okay enough." I looked at him and noticed his rosy cheeks. "Awe did I embarrass you Shawnie?" He shook his head, holding back a smile.

"You're really just pushing it today, huh Y/n?" I just shrugged. A smirk began to form on his face as he looked at the water behind me.

"Shawn, no." His smirk only grew. "Told you I'd get you back." He said as he picked me up bridal style.

He stepped into the water up to his lower thigh, which would be at the waist for me.

"Shawn, no. I'm warning you." He took another step forward. "What'll you do if I do?" I didn't realize how close we actually were until this moment.

I'd seen this in movies many times, but I didn't know if I should do it. I don't want to ruin anything I had with him, he's my best friend.

I have to learn how to live in the moment, make choices without thinking, just simply live.

I smirked, "This."

I placed my lips on his, taking him by surprise. It's like he was frozen for a moment, but soon kissed back.

I smiled, breaking the kiss. I looked at him, but he didn't have the expression I was hoping he'd have.

I slipped out of his arms, my feet splashing in the warm, salty water.

"Shawn?" He didn't respond, I felt the tears brim my eyes.

"I'm sorry Shawn, I'm sorry." I ran, I ran as fast as could. I could hear him calling my name from behind me, but I didn't stop

I didn't know where I was going, all I knew is I needed to get away.
