Akala ko

"Saan ang mas gusto mo dito?" he asked me, while holding the two hanged shirts. He just really loves different t-shirts with awesome designs printed on it. "Yung babagay sa 'kin," he added.

"Hmm," I caress my chin, na parang nahihirapan kung anong pipiliin sa dalawa. But I finally made a choice, anyway. "Eto," I pointed.

"Great choice," he said in his baritone voice.

To be honest, ang gwapo pakinggan.

Kinakareer niya talaga itong so-called date namin.

We roam around the mall.

While walking, I can feel the awkwardness forming... again. We're just really close to each other. Our hands even touched. He looked at me, then he smiled. He suddenly intertwined his hand with mine. Bumibilis nanaman 'yung tibok ng puso ko. And I hate to admit it, but it's really cliché.

"Proof that we're actually dating and together," his reason for the intertwining hands.

I nodded. "Right," I seconded.

We went to a boutique full of caps. Caps are really my favorite. "Hala, ang cute naman nito," I commented while taking a look on a pastel cap. Naramdaman kong lumapit si Kenneth sa 'kin.

"Bilhin ko," he said.

"Kenneth, no. Please," I declined.

"Dali na," pagpupumilit niya.

"Hindi ko pwedeng itolerate o abusuhin ang habit mo'ng nililibre ako," I declared. I put the cap on the side. "I can pay for it," sabi ko.

"Last na lang. Promise." He smiled at me.

"Ayoko."

"Promise nga, e." Hindi talaga titigil ang lalaking 'to. "Last na rin naman, Wendy, e. Please na." Now, he is showing his cute side. 'Di ko matiis. Punyeta.

"Tss, oo na."

His grinning spread widely. Then he really bought the caps; he even also bought one for himself! Agad niya namang isinuot 'yon.

"Wear yours, too," he commanded. Sinunod ko naman. When I already wore the cap, his smile went wide again. He suddenly took out his phone. "Picture tayo, Wendy," sabi niya. Then walang pakundangan, nag-picture kaming dalawa.

Then suddenly, I feel a pinch in my heart.

I remembered that this scene happened... years ago to me.

With a different person.

"Picture tayo, Blanchoy."

His voice is just echoing all over my head. Naiser just doesn't want to leave my brain and heart. Well, lucky for him... I'll be willingly to accept it—it just hurts.

"Okay ka lang, Wendy?" My senses were back, when I heard Kenneth. Tumingin naman ako sa kanya. "You're crying," he stated.

I immediately wiped off some tears, when he said that.
