As long as I've been a mechanic with the resistance, a certain curly haired, beautiful specimen of a pilot had caught my eye. I would stay back and watch him from afar, a blush on my cheeks each time. I would work on his X-Wing every now and then, and I found myself taking extra time to make sure everything was good to go. Force, did I have it bad: a big crush on one of the most admired people in the resistance. I've crossed him a few times.

I was in the hangar, pushing my tool cart along. Poe had just come back from a mission and I couldn't help but look at him when he took off his helmet and his curls fell over his eyes, falling in love with that smile he gave his squadron as they filed past him.

"(Y/N), watch out!" someone shouted, but it was a bit too late.

I crashed my tool cart into a wooden crate. The tools sprayed everywhere and I tripped over the cart I were pushing, hitting my head painfully on the metal top. I groaned, picking myself up off the cart and I opened my eyes to see Poe standing in front of me.

"Are you okay?"

What a gentleman.

"Yeah... I'm great," I said in a light voice.

Poe's brow furrowed together. "You're bleeding," he gently took your face in his hands and your heart sped up ten times. He gently wiped the blood from my nose with his sleeve and I felt that I could die happily, right then and there. "You may want to get that looked at."

Suddenly, I snapped back into reality and realized that maybe I shouldn't be staring at him like he was some type of ethereal being. I moved away from him so he was no longer cupping my face in his gloved hands. I awkwardly picked the cart back up off the ground and went rummaging for my tools.

"Thank you, I'll be okay. Um, I uh, appreciate the help," I splayed the tools back on the cart and turned, pushing it away, a massive blush on my cheeks that matched the blood that was still dripping from your nose.

Poe couldn't help but watch as I walked away, an amused smile on his face as he walked inside base, ready to go report to the General.

Soon, he realized that it wasn't a coincidence that I was there in the hangar that day. Each time he came home from a mission, I always seemed to have an excuse to be there. He never saw me otherwise, with the exception of the mess hall.

He got out of his X-Wing, pulled off his helmet, watched his squad leave and then glanced around the hangar. He caught me staring at him. In that moment, I fumbled with the wrench in my hand and it eventually clattered to the ground. When he left, he would always sneak in one last glance to see me blushing madly.

Two weeks after the event, he happened to sit not far down the table from me in the mess hall. He had gone unnoticed by me, and he was watching with a small smile on his face as he ate. I felt someone staring and looked up, my ears turning instantly red as I saw Poe. I ducked my head back down trying to hide my smile. I dared to peek again and quickly looked away, seeing him chuckling at my bashfulness.

Another time, he came back from a solo mission. I ended up tripping over BB-8 and he caught me before I could hit the ground.

"You okay?" Poe asked.

"Amazing," I said, breathless.

He stood me upright but made no move to leave. He just looked at me with caring eyes and an amused smile. My eyes darted between him and the floor before eventually turning red from the neck up. I gave a small salute and walked away. I ended up tripping over your own feet, but didn't fall to the ground thankfully.

Finally, I had been at the training center on base, getting in a small exercise before I went to sleep for the night. As I was leaving, Poe came in, causing me to knock into his chest.
