Marionette

"Again! We are not stopping until you get this!" I was trying to regain my breathe, her yelling wasn't helping me at all.

"Maybe...maybe if you would give me a..a break...I might actually...do it right" I had managed in between breathes.

"I don't think the enemy gives you breaks when it comes to a fight to the death!" I had weakly dodged another one of her attacks, clearly almost about to pass out. I had dodged again as she had swung the staff at full force again. She then tripped me, making me flip and land hard on the matted ground. I groaned, unable to get up. "You know what? Fine. Fine. Let him come back and find you the weakest out of all of us. Let him come back and you barely get your Kwami! Let him come back to the failure he had left because she already was a failure!"

My closed eyes shot open as I sprang up, forgetting my tiredness, forgetting my sore limbs. I grabbed my fallen staff, swinging it  towards her as she blocked, a grin on her face. I kept attacking, left and right and left and right. I caught her off guard swiping at her legs to bring her to her knees. I flipped over her, putting the staff against her neck and pulling it towards me. She tried to resist choking.

"Tap out. Tap out damn it!" I screamed. I pushed the wooden piece against her neck even more, making her tap my hand three times. I let go, allowing for her to catch her breathe. She wheezed holding onto her neck, I sat across from her just watching.

"That's...what..we need" I got up, holding my hand to help her up. She took it, then had flipped me back onto the ground. I lost my breathe as I landed on my back. I gained it back as she leaned her head on my stomach.

"Do you ever think about what he is thinking?" The morning had turned into the afternoon, Ella and I were sitting in the institutes Cafeteria. Both of us had our own separate salads for lunch.

"Not really...I guess I knew what his final thought was and I didn't want to find out anymore" I took a bite from my salad, grabbed a napkin then had wiped off whatever was on my face.

"What was that last thought?" I put my fork down, sighing.

"That he isn't ever coming back" she had also put her fork down, grabbing my hand in hers.

"Of coarse he is going to come back. He loves you"

"If he loved me he wouldn't have let me go" she scoffed, getting up and out of her chair.

"You know what? We need to get you out of here. You've been all cooped up that you're rethinking everything" I tilted my head at her. "We are having a girls day!" Then my eyes had widen.

"Won't Cato say no? He barely lets me out into the garden alone"

"Your with me. You'll be fine. If anything I will take all the blame if he finds out anything" I don't know about this but if it gets me out of practice maybe.

"So no afternoon practice?" She rolled her eyes.

"If I say yes will you go?" I nodded, grinning a bit.

"How can I turn down such an offer"

"Oh be careful" I had gotten up confused. "Your smile might actually stay" I rolled my eyes, swatting at her shoulder. She giggled as we both began to leave.

Both of us had gotten ready, taking showers and getting out of our training clothes. Now the hard part had come. Sneaking past Cato without him growing suspicious. I took a deep breathe, creeping out of my room. I watched as people had hurriedly walked towards their destinations. I began to descent down the stairs. No Cato. Perfect! I then happily walked to where I was gonna meet Ella. There she was. She saw me smiling and had walked over to me.

"Ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be" her smile had grown wider as she took my arm leading me towards the exit. We had gone quickly.

We had reached the door, opening it to reveal the outside. As we began to go out I felt someone behind me snag at my arm. I turned the see Cato.

"And where do you think your going?" I froze in fear.

"G-Girls day?" He shook his head. Then Ella had snatched his grip off of me.

"Run!" I didn't think twice as I booked it to the sidewalk.

"Get them!" I had heard Cato shout. Uh oh. I turned the corner, Ella having to go the other way. I kept running. I turned another corner, hiding behind a dumpster. I watched as two people from the institute ran by, speaking in their own language.

As soon as I let out my breathe I had gotten up, walking towards the road. Towards civilization. I watched as only a few cars had went by then when it was clear I began to walk towards that bakery where Ella said to meet if we ever get split.

I then had felt someone grab my arm again. I screamed but they pulled me back against them, their hand over my mouth. I struggled under their grip, trying to get out.

"Hey! Relax it's just me!" I bit his hand making him wince and then pull away.

"Damn it Cato. I've been cooped up for months! Just let me out this one day"

"You have had your fair share of 'freedom' we are leaving. Now!" My eyes narrowed at him. He then pushed me to start walking. Submissively I had to. I moved at a slow pace, going the longer way to the institute. I'm not going back.

That's when I saw it. My window of opportunity. A group of tourist had walked by allowing for me to slip past them so Cato can get blocked off.

"Marinette get back here!" I giggled, running across the road. I caught a glimpse of the cars but then had stopped. Wait. I stopped dead in my tracks turning to the car coming towards me on the road. Is that.

The black car had come to a stop about ninety feet away from me. "Adrien?" He was there. Both of his gloved hands on the steering wheel, his jaw slightly open in shock. Why was he wearing his disguise?

Everything had seemed to slow down. His grip had slowly went down, away from sight. He seemed to have leaned back in his seat. Why isn't he getting out? "Adrien!" I called out to him. I know he can hear me. I know he can.

I could hear Cato's voice. I just couldn't make out the words. What was he saying? Why was he screaming? I don't even think that I recognized that the car was now racing towards me. All I could do was stare at him. At my Chaton.

It was at the last second where I fell out of my trance, screaming as the car made impact and the world had gone dark.
