Niall came out from the bedroom, finishing up doing the buttons on a dress shirt which made me curious as to why he was dressed so fancy.
"You don't know this but I have something planned for us to do today." He grinned.
"Do you now?" I looked at him intently and urged him to continue.
"I happened to book us a day out in the country at this fancy winery for the two of us. We spend the day drinking fine wines and then enjoy ourselves a candle lit dinner in the vineyard."
'Wine, food, and my best friend. You truly know the way to a girls heart. You've really outdone yourself this time love, thank you." I smiled, walking towards him.
"We have the car coming to pick us up two hours so go put on something nice but not too nice, save that for when we return home tonight." He smirked, lightly tapping my back side as I walked past him.
I stepped in and out of the car in a long and slender dress matched with a pair of slip on flats. I almost made the mistake of wearing heels knowing the majority of the night we would be walking out in the grass lined vineyards. Standing outside of our car was a man dressed in a simple light-coloured suit waiting to open the car door for us.
"Welcome to Rosso di Montalcino, we are very pleased to have you as our guests this evening. If you follow me, I can show you to the gentleman who will be guiding you on your tour today of our elegant vineyard."
I was impressed by the sophistication of the venue. Niall had to make special accommodations for us which included reserving the entire property so we didn't have to worry about unwanted interactions with people that could take away the joy in the experiences we were going to have today. The purpose of this trip was to spend time with each other so we could focus on just us and not be bombarded with the rest of the world.
Niall slipped his hand across my back and around my waist, pulling me closer to his side. My body adjusted to warmth radiating from his hands on my skin. We walked side by side until we were greeted by the man who would be giving us our vineyard tour.
"I hope you've prepared yourselves for an evening filled with wine, decadent food, and romance. My name is Lucca and I'll be responsible for the first half of your winery experience. If you follow me, we can make our way to our carts"
I used Niall's outstretched hand for balance getting onto the cart. I needed to lift up my dress in order to sit properly because the length of my dressed nearly touched the ground and I didn't want to end up stepping on my dress and making a fool out of myself. The sun was beginning to set in the distance which made the moment so much more special. Niall placed a quick kiss on my cheek as the cart pulled away.
We passed rows and rows in the fields of hanging grapes from tall vines. The only other people among us were the handful of workers delicately picking grapes. The wind blew my hair in every different direction almost hitting Niall square in the face.
Niall leaned in closer to me and whispered something that completely caught me off guard, "I though we decided on you wearing the short dress."
I knew he was implying easy access for his hands to roam free under my dress which was not something I was going to allow to happen in public. I smirked and turned to his direction, making sure Lucca couldn't overhear our private conversation.
"I thought I would save that dress for tonight."
"You wont be needing a dress, or anything for that matter, for what I have planned for tonight."My breath hitched in my throat and a sharp gasp followed closely after. I hit Niall's thigh with a rush of pure embarrassment resonating on my face, although I knew he enjoyed it.
