You eyes shut wide in horror, your heart beating somewhere up your throat. You had expected flames surrounding you, expected to hear your own or the little girl' you had held screams. You had expected suffering and pain as ending your life like a living fuel. However, instead of fire, everything your eyes met were a dark and cold room.

No flames, no pain, no girl. Simply everything was quiet.

It took you a moment to comprehend it fully and to recognize where you were. You were laying on the side on something soft. It smelled nice and familiar, quickly revealing to you it was Raph's bed you were laying in. By first glance you were safe, but your stomach knotted quickly hearing noise behind you.

From your back you felt warmth surge through your clothing, heating you up the whole way in to your bones. You raised your head only to bit harshly on your lower-lip suppressing the shout you were about to utter when you found the source to the heat you were feeling. Raph, the one who had left you to burn, laid behind you. Immediately all sorts of thought struck through your mind: He was evil, wicked, crazy, menacing...asleep.

A lot more different from what you just had experienced this turtle in red slept soundly. His expression was relaxed and showed no signs of insanity in it. It dawned for you as you observed him that this Raphael seemed familiar. He seemed real. Like a puzzle the pieces began to match. You had had a nightmare: scary, horrible, terrifying, but nevertheless just a dream.

You shifted to your other side exhaling. Deliberately you hoped by watching Raph your heart would stop its pounding and the memories to vanish. However, by your moving you unintentionally somehow had managed to wake up Raph.

"(Y/n)..." he muttered hoarsely. His sleepy eyes opened, instantly growing larger when turning to you. "Hey, why that look?"

You tensed up by the question, nervously looking away. "It's nothing...Just...Just go back to sleep."

"Not while you try to imitate Don's staff." Looking worried, he asked: "What's wrong?"

Unconsciously you tried to avoid meeting his eyes, even though you had no reason to. It had been a bad dream, still you felt uncomfortable about telling him about your nightmare nor to admit it effected you still even though you knew it hadn't been real. You attempted a smile, but it ended up being a grimace, letting you gain a doubtful gaze.

You sighed. "I...dreamed about something..."

"A nightmare?"

"No, a pony pooping rainbows."

Raph grinned shaking his head. He laid his arm around you and pulled you in for a hug. "You're right that sounds scary,"  he joked before saying in a lower voice. "(Y/n), whatever you fantasized it wasn't true."

"I know that..."

"And I won't ever let it come true.

"I know..."

"Then stop worrying." He tapped you in the chest, where your heart was, with a digit. "Have a little faith in me. I'm not losing you."

His words left no room for discussion. Just by being with the real Raph, you could feel the nightmare erase itself. There was no way he'd go crazy, never. Like he had said when you met, he was not one of the bad guys.

You closed your eyes and snuggled closer to him. Now when you thought about it you felt safe being hugged. At least safe enough to let sleep fall over you.
