The week had finally overlapped into the weekend, yet still things were busier than ever for you and your purple-masked boyfriend. Your assignments and homework had piled up in a dramatic pace, just barely giving you enough time to make it. After many all-nighters you recently had puller off the effect had begun to show.

Donnie's situation wasn't much better. His experiments had become even larger and more complicated to the extent it could've been called extreme. It was obvious he had greater experience with lack of sleep than you, but still the stress seemed to have a deep grasp in him. Putting your own exhaustion aside, you therefore decided to help him the best possible, to relieve him from at least some of his stress.

"(Y/n), could you put some hydrochloric-acid in the tub please?" Don asked over his shoulder, not looking away from his own doings. "It's on the shelf."

It took you a moment to process his voice, but after the third time he called, you startled looked away from the steering tub you had been watching. "Huh? Sorry?"

"The hydrochloric-acid," he repeated. "Could you get it?"

"Mhm."

Stifling a yawn with a hand, you moved per automatic to retreat the liquid. You stood under the shelf and stared blankly up at the bottles which were rowed upon it. You felt tired and dull, seeing the many labels. In your condition the letters made no understandable words you could read properly.

You tried your hardest to read the bottles' titles, but gave eventually up as your concentration kept fleeting and your eyes threatened to shut. Before you'd doze off completely, you shook your head forcefully to stay awake and grabbed the bottle you guessed to be the correct one.

Yawning once more, you returned to the tub. For a moment you swayed like someone fainting, but quickly recovered once more. You knew it wasn't the right time to sleep, yet you so badly wished you could. Still thinking so, you with half-closed eyes opened up the bottle and raised it over the brewing tub.

"Could you fi..." Don halted his question as turning his attention to you. Instantly his eyes gree in size with pure horror. He dropped the content in his hands and reached out for you simultaneously as roaring. "NO! (Y/N)!"

His warning was too late.

Before you could react to the warning, you already had emptied the bottle into the tub. You just barely managed to widen your eyes at the dangerous glimpse of hasty growing bubbles, when you were tackled to the ground forcefully by last second.

An explosion echoed through out the lab as a wave of heat engulfed the two of you in a inferno. You gasped frightened, while Don hovered over you to shield you from the explosion's danger. Noises of plastic, glass and metal fragments being tossed into the air in every direction was heard, while a thick smell of smoke soar in the air.

Donnie clutched you close to his chest, tight enough to leave you breathless, refusing to bugde before the explosion had settled. At last the explosion ended and you were released with a cough.

"Are you alright?" Don asked concerned looking down to you. You nodded, causing a relived exhale to escape from him. "I'm glad."

He stood up and took in the damage of the room. You followed suit and got to your feet as well. The sudden explosion had provoked a chain-reaction of damage. Machines and other experiments that had been standing on the tables was now broken and scattered across the floor.

Donnie's expression hardened turning greatly seethed. His expression didn't change when he turned it to you. "What exactly were you thinking, (Y/n)?! You should know very well that you can't doze off in a lab!"

"I-I'm sorry..." you said low.

Don frowned much unusually for him. "Thanks to your clumsiness, two weeks of work has been thrown out of the window."

"It was an accident..."

He kicked to one of his destroyed designs "And that makes it better?" Frustrated he facepalmed. "I understand you've had people to do everything for you, but this is just stupid. I thought you knew your alchemy and the simple basic rules of working with it."

His words was harsh and his gaze cold. Though your heart felt pained by his anger, you averaged your eyes and did a attempt to help clean up, however, only to have cut one of your fingers on a sharp piece of metal. "OW!"

"The great..." He sighed heavily, took a patch and handed it to you. "Don't you think you've done enough? Just get out of here already."

"B-But I want to help..." you told quietly.

"That you're here is a bigger burden than help." He turned his back and picked up his broken experiments.

"But..."

"I DON'T NEED YOU!" Don finally snapped fronting you.

For the first time a wave of anger surged over you. You had been yelled at, been bullied, been pushed around with, but never in your life you'd want to be shouted at by the person, who many months ago had said the exact opposite.

"FINE!" you scream at him shakingly. "GO DO IT YOURSELF! I DON't NEED A LIAR EITHER!"

You spun on your heel and stormed off, too thrown off balance to let any tears tears. You ran into the living room, heading for the exit. Your eyes widened when a large, purple-ish puddle appeared in front of you. You desperately tried to halt, but with no luck. You slammed headfirst in to the swirling mass. By seconds as quickly it had appeared, it vanished again along with you.
