Japan x Reader: Personal Space

  (Y/n)'s P.O.V

     I let out a shaky sigh as the rain came down in torrents on the roof of Kiku's house. I had come over to have an anime marathon with my long time friend Kiku and half way through it started to rain. It had started out lightly but soon it started thundering. I let out a squeak and hugged the pillow closer to my body as another clap of thunder sounded. The lights had gone out some time ago and Kiku went to go light some candles and set them up, he said it shouldn't take him long. But that was thirty minutes ago and the Japanese man has yet to return. Now is probably the right time to say that I am terrified of thunder. I like the rain, just not thunder storms. I've never liked them since my father and I got into a car accident on the way home in a thunder storm. We both lived but it has left an imprint and I've been scared of thunder and thunderstorms ever since. Pochi snuggled up closer to me and let out a whine, he obviously wanted Kiku to get back as much as I did. I ditched the pillow and picked up Pochi and lightly hugged him. "Don't worry Pochi, Kiku will be back soon." I said, more or less trying to reassure myself more than the dog. Lighting momentarily lite up the room as thunder once again clapped.

     "(Y/n)-chan I'm back now, I'm sorry it took me so rong." Kiku said, walking in with a candle. "I-It's okay." I said, shakily. You see I've never told anyone about my fears, obviously, it's embarrassing. Pochi jumped out of my arms and ran over to his master as Kiku placed the candle down. "Herro Pochi." Kiku said, reaching down to pet the dog. Kiku then stood back up and came and sat down a bit away from me on the floor. We sat in silence for a few moments until another clap of thunder sounded. I let out a shrill screech and ended up throwing my arms around the closest thing, which just so happened to be Kiku. "A-ah (Y/n)-chan, w-what are you doing?" Kiku asked, tensing up. I just realized that I had started hugging Kiku. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry Kiku! I didn't mean to invade your personal space! It's just that I'm so afraid of thunderstorms, the thunder scares me so much!" I apologized so quickly that I almost didn't understand what I was even saying. I let go of Kiku and backed up. "You're scared of thunderstorms (Y/n)-chan?" Kiku asked, recovering from the hug. I just nodded my head silently.

     "K-Kiku what are you doing?" I asked when Kiku had pulled me into another hug. "You're scared (Y/n)-chan. And I guess I don't mind you invading my personar space." He said resting his chin on top of my head. "W-why don't you mind if I invade your personal space?" I asked, not being able to resist the curiosity. "B-Because 私はあなたを愛して* (Y/n)." Kiku said, dropping the honorific. "W-what does that mean?" I asked, you'd think after all this time of knowing Kiku and watching anime that I'd know what that means, but sadly I don't. "I-It means I rove you." Kiku said, pulling me closer. "I love you too Kiku." I said, and lifted my head up from his chest and lightly kissed his cheek. In the soft glow of the candle I could see Kiku's face go bright red. "(Y-Y/n)-" At that point I tuned him out and rested my head on his chest again, knowing that he was going to go into a stuttering rant.

     Yay! Okay so this one is way different than the original one I was writing. That one I had started back in September last year and never finished, and when I went back and read what I had wrote I had to be honest with myself, it was absolute crap! But I still wanted to write a fanfiction with this title and for Japan, so I took the title and made something completely new for it, and I know that it definitely came out better than the original. 別れ親愛なるリーダ! -Rosa (Amestris)

P.S. I'm on Winter vacation now! It'll last until March 5th (my birthday!), and then I'll have to go back to school on the 6th. Hehehe, funny thing is we are having winter vacation, but the weather is supposed to be (starting today) 62, 48, 54, 52, 52, 62, 39, 32, 41, and 37. Yeah, so it's pretty warm here for winter.
