Dragons

Dragons are all around

Everywhere you look

For they are perched on their lofty mountain homes

And ruling their dwellings

At the bottom of the sea.

Scouring the deserts

Prowling the mighty jungles

And picking off the elephants

But they live elsewhere too,

They live inside me and you.

Look now in the mirror

And you will see a dragon's head.

Soft green or ruby red,

Sky blue or purple

The possibilities never end

For they alight in imagination

For that is where they soar.

Terrorizing villages

Or peaceful with the scholars,

Wise and kind

Or old and bitter

Touch the sky or rule the earth,

There are dragons all around.
