Assasination atempt

Uncle Luke told me a lot about my mom I didn't know. Things from her childhood, that someone would want to keep buried. "I...I didn't know that." I stuttered. "Ashlyn, has always had to fight. She wouldn't be here if she didn't fight. You and Dimitri would probably not be here if she hadn't." Aunt Meg said. "Now come on, back to bed." Uncle Luke said. I nodded and climbed off the bed. Aunt Meg walked me to the door.

I didn't go to my room. I went to Ma and Pa's room. I went in, and climbed into bed with them. "Hey baby." Ma whispered to me. "I'm scarred." I whispered as Ma held me in her arms.

Dimitri pov
Nikki, Dad and I were walking down the steps of the senate. I was leaning greatly on a cane. Nikki was also helping me.

We got to the seats. Dad pulled a seat out for me, and Nikki helped my sit. I groaned as I sat down. I put a hand on my stitches. "You okay?" Nikki asked as she took the seat next to me. Dad sat down on the other side of me. "I'm fine." I said to her. I leaned back in the chair.

We'd been summoned to be tried in front of senate. For holding the shooter in the dungeon and taking his punishing into our own hands before a trail.

"We open this session of the Senate. The first thing on the agenda. The government vs. the King." The Deputy Prime Minister, Kaleb Reynolds said. "Your Majesty you have the floor, will you please recite what you witnessed on. The day of the 2nd of July." "Yes sir, and before I start. I apologize for not standing."

I went on and recited what I had witnessed. "I passed out on the way to the hospital wing. I woke up three days later. My Wife, Queen Nicollet and my sister, Princess Serenity, by my bedside. I asked what had happen, and Queen Nicollet told me about my injuries. My mother had slowed down the bullet, it broke up while inside her. Yet a few shards were able to brake through the skin on her back, and hit me it in the lower abdomen." I said.

"Queen Nicollet where were you at the time during the shooting?" "I was at my parent's house visiting with them, my brother and his wife. Prince Levi was also with me." Nikki said. "And how did you find out about the shooting?" "A car came and picked me up. I was only told that there had been an accident. It wasn't till I arrived at the hospital wing and asked my husband what happened."

"And what happened after King Dimitri left with a guard?" "I comforted Princess Serenity. And Kept Prince Levi with In Arms reach." Nikki said. "And then?"
"After a few minutes, a guard ran in carrying King Dimitri. I jumped to my feet, and ran after the guard. Trying to find out what happened. The guard laid King Dimitri on a gurney. And the doctors and nurses who weren't present in Princess Ashlyn's surgery. Took King Dimitir. An hour later, a nurse came with an update about King Dimitri. I also asked for an update on Princess Ashlyn. But she didn't have one." Nikki said.

"Captain Jake Woodwork. What happened after King Dinitri collapses in the cell?" "Prime Minister Titus Leon, gave the go ahead to punish the shooter." Dad said. "And where is the prisoner now?" "Still in the cell, wishing for death." Dad said. I glared at him. "King Dimitri did you know of this?" "Yes sir I did. I wanted to start touchering him. My father, Captain Woodwork advised we wait till Prime Minister Titus arrived. And shortly after he did, I passed out." I said. "Prime Minister is this true?" "Yes sir, it is. And I over saw the entire toucher session. I made the call when I thought the man had enough." Titus said. "And you allowed the man to be held their till he dies?" "Yes sir, the man commented a crime as old as Illea. We may be a Constitutional Monarchy But King Dimitri is still our King. He still over sees everything we do. He also has to sign a bill after I have signed it. And he can veto it, just like I can." Titus said. "Alright we are done."

Dad and Nikki helped me up. And we left. "I wanna visit mom I said to Nikki when we got back to the Palace. She helped me to the hospital wing. I was leaning against her. I could barely bare the pain in my side. It had's been this bad since I woke up. I placed a hand on my stitches.

Nikki opened the door. "Dimitri." Mom said. She still couldn't sit up. Nikki helped me sit down. Mom held her left arm for me to take. "How are you today?" I asked as I kissed her hand. "I'm alright, how was the Senate?" She asked. "Alright, but I feel like we'll be attending a meeting soon. To deal with what happened. And how to deal with future events like this." I said. "But that's latter." Nikki said. "But anyways how are you doing. Have you tried sitting up today?" I asked. "No, they don't want me to move. In fear of the shard moving." Mom said. "I know how that is, fearing that unclaimed shard may move and cause more damage." I said. "Come here." Moms waved. I got up, and she hugged me. "The rebels will never give up, and neither will we. It's a hydra vs hydra. You cut off one head, and two more grow back." Mom said. Pain throbbed in my side. "Well I've got to go take my meds." I kissed mom's forehead. "If you see Serenity send her my way. I wanna see her." Mom said. "Will do." I said.

Nikki and I went back to my room. And I laid down. Nikki brought me my meds. "Thank you Nurse Nikki." I said jokingly. "Your welcome." Nikki said as she kissed my forehead. Jupiter jumped up on the bed and laid next to me and whimpered. I scratched his head.

"Mommy?" I heard outside my door. A knock came at the door and Nikki opened the door. I did my best to sit up. "I'm so sorry to bother you Your Majesty, but Prince Levi is refusing to take his nap." Nanny Alison said. Nikki took Levi. "Do you want to take your nap with Daddy?" Nikki asked. "Ya," Levi said. "I think, we can handle him for the rest of the day. We'll send for you if we need you." Nikki said. Nanny Alison curtsied, then left.

Nikki closed the door And brought Levi over to me. Jupiter moved and laid at the end of the bed. As carefully as Nikki and I could we took my prosthetics off. Nikki helped me change out of my suit. Then helped me under the comforter. "Now Levi remember, you need to be very careful with Daddy's side. You can't be too ruff with him. Remember he's got a big booboo that hurts." Nikki told Levi, as he snuggled up against my left side. "I will," he said.

Before we knew it he was asleep. "I can't believe he's almost three." I whispered. "Don't remind me." Nikki whispered. She got up and kissed my forehead. "Now get some rest. I've got a bit of work to do. I'll come check on you two later." Nikki said. "Bye Nik." I whispered as she left . I soon found myself asleep.
