Vik's POV
When I heard about how difficult it was to find your soulmate, I honestly thought being alone for life sounded much sweeter.

Some people had tattoos that indicated they had found their soulmate. Sometimes the tattoo would light up in color, other times the tattoo would suddenly appear on your skin.

Others would have an exact quote from their soulmate etched into their skin since day one.

Occasionally people would share the same colors. Every time someone spoke the person's name, their vision would fill with this color that represented them and their soulmate.

Not everyone was as lucky though. Unfortunately, I was one of those people.

I still had a tattoo, but it was particularly different from how the tattoos of others seemed to work. The day I turned sixteen, a small and nearly unnoticeable 'L' appeared just beside my hip bone.

Written in cursive, the capital 'L' was a lovely tattoo. I loved the tattoo and the little numbers the appeared underneath of it, to signal to me when I would meet my soulmate.

The numbers read: '19|8|2|14|19'
In order that meant, I would be 19 when I met my soulmate, we would meet on August 2nd, 2014, and they would also be 19 years old when we met.

I had three years of my life before I met my soulmate, and even though most people stopped dating when soulmate 'marks' became a thing - I decided dating would be fun.

So I went out and over the course of those three years had 4 non-soulmate boyfriends.

I first dated Preston and he was extremely attractive. He had chocolate brown hair and matching beautiful brown eyes that made me weak to the knees. Preston was bubbly, fun, goofy, and silly. He was lighthearted and child-like, which made him a good choice for a first boyfriend.

Him and I ended on a good note - as all my relationships would. We only spilt apart because he had eight months before he met his soulmate and we both agreed that Preston needed to be ready, and unfocused on anyone else. Even though we probably could've stayed together longer, we were young and Preston deserved to be prepared for his soulmate.

I quickly got another boyfriend, Rob. He was due to meet his soulmate in about 7 months when we began dating. He was a little taller than Preston had been, with the same beautiful brown eyes. Rob's hair, however, was darker than Preston's and Rob had a full grown beard when we dated.

Rob and I broke it off - yet again in a mutual agreement - when he was about 2 months away from meeting his soulmate. We happily parted ways, still choosing to remain in contact. I'm happy I stayed in touch though, otherwise I wouldn't have known about Preston and Rob being soulmates.

After Rob I dated Mitch, who was more on the hot side. His spiked brown hair and hazel eyes had quickly caught my attention. Mitch and I stayed together for a short amount of time, barely even 5 months, before we ultimately had to break it off.

He was destined to meet his soulmate 3 months after we broke it off, but I knew it would be for the better. Getting over Mitch was difficult, and I knew it was difficult for him to get over me.

Now, Jerome and I could hardly have been considered a relationship, more like friends with major benefits. I mean we would kiss, cuddle, and fuck - things normal couples should do. However, we weren't really romantic and we didn't have enough time before we would both meet our soulmates to make anything official.

Jerome was around Rob's height, he had a large nose and the equivalent of a small goatee, as it seemed to small to be a beard. His hair was an indescribable shade of brown, that could appear blonde or dark brown whenever it pleased. Jerome was very goofy and funny like Preston, but could still be responsible and handled leadership well, like both Rob and Mitch.

I kept in touch with Mitch long enough to find out that Jerome was his soulmate. Funny to think that they both dated me and became soulmates. Same goes to Rob and Preston.

Now on August 2nd, 2014, I met my soulmate. His name was Lachlan, the small cursive 'L' on my hip now making a lot of sense. His tattoo was a small cursive 'v' left littered on his gorgeous collarbone.

Lachlan is extremely tall, considering he towers over me and can use my head as an arm rest. He has these bright, oceanic eyes that light up whenever I talk to him. His hair is this beautiful blonde color, and he always styles his hair into this little quiff that I love to run my fingers through.

You know that feeling when you see someone after not seeing them for a long time? Do you know that feeling when you think of a really good memory that happened so many years ago? You know that feeling? The feeling that makes you feel like you've been drowning and you just took a breath of air after what seems like years? You know that feeling of relief and satisfaction when you see someone you haven't seen in so long? Do you know that feeling when you make a pleasant memory that you just know is going to last you a lifetime?

If you've ever felt any or all of those feelings, then you know what I feel like every time I look into Lachlan's beautiful blue eyes. Every time I hear his angelic voice. Every time I wake up in the morning and see him holding me as close to him as humanly possible. Every. Single. Time. He so much as says my name, yawns, sneezes, smiles, laughs, kisses me anywhere, and so much more.

That's what I feel.

Every.
Single.
Time.

Because that's how your soulmate should make you feel. And I'm so glad that Lachlan is mine.

Woah.
This was supposed to be:

'Vik has a soulmate tattoo but decides to keep dating people, ignoring the tattoo. Every time he goes to have sex with the person he's dating though, they see the small 'L' on his hip and break up with him, since their name doesn't begin with L. But when he finally meets Lachlan it all makes sense, and Vikklan were soulmates after all.

BONUS: if Lachlan and Vik had been in a relationship before (or during ;) ) Vik's non-soulmate relationships'
