LACEY

I woke up, and immediately thought of last night which brought a smile on my face. I, however didn't know how today would go. First day back to school and I don't know where Jack and I stand. Hopefully he'll tell me when I see him.

I pulled on skinny jeans, and some Abercrombie shirt, and drove to school. When I got there, I waited at my locker for Jack to pass by. This was the way he went to get to one of his classes on his schedule. A schedule that I bet he'll tear on the last day of school.

I grabbed my SS book, and then I saw him. His hair was disheveled, and he wore a blue shirt, and black jeans. My smile was coming back from this morning, but just as fast as it came it left quickly.

Madison was gripping his hand like no tomorrow. It was like everything was in slow motion. Her laugh escaping her lips, Jack saying nice comments close to her ear, Madison reaching up to give him a kiss on the cheek.

My gut had been right, it was too good to be true. I had been a side girl.
