IM READY TO FINISH THE BOOK LETS DO THIS

LACEY

I've come to realize how whiny I sound in my head, and sometimes out loud. Why should I worry about what he thinks?

School will start again soon, and he'll probably just forget about me. Madison will make sure of it. Jack seems dedicated to their relationship, he just needs company, that's all im good for.

FLASHBACK

I closed my locker, and watched as Madison walked backwards, pulling Jack with her, as she laughed at something he said.

As they walked past, Jacks eyes met mine, and I could see the sadness glitter in his eyes. He didn't look happy. Anyone could tell if you really looked. I bet no one's ever tried to see through him, or anyone at the top. I wonder if Madison is even happy, if only she just likes being at the top, what are her true emotions?

That was a month before spring break started. I've never questioned it after that day. What if Jack is only dating her, because he's hiding true emotions? He wants to look happy by dating someone. I can imagine the real emotion even more, because I have the same ones.
