Chapter 12 - Just Enjoy The Show

**Wooooppsieeees - yeah sorry I haven't uploaded in a while. Stupid NAB test things drving me craaaaaazy :S It's fine though, I haven't failed one..... yet ;) Anyway - not the longest chapter in the world but I'm sorry, I'll try be quicker uploading next time :') Love y'all!**  

The morning seemed to pass pretty quickly as my parents, Esther and Eiko sat and talked to us for ages before the doctor came to discharge me, giving me some pain killers but telling me to not do anything which could put strain on my back. We all left the hospital with a cheerful atmosphere, bundling into our Landrover and heading home but one question was bugging me which I was too scared to ask. What happened to Dan?

For the next few days I lay in bed in agony being visited constantly by Esther, Eiko, Andy and a band of other people, which I really appreciated – it was nice to know some people cared. What I didn't appreciate was the homework and classwork they brought with them. It was only two days yet I seemed to have missed heaps!

According to the police people, Dan has only received a fine for what he did - luckily I haven't heard from him since the incident though. Andy hasn't stopped worrying about it yet, he's convinced he's going to try to get to me and has text me every night asking if I've locked all the windows and doors. Little overprotective but I don't mind; I understand anyway. I've not exactly been calm about the whole thing – the past couple of nights since leaving hospital I've had Esther or Eiko over so I wasn't on my own.

Will forced me to put his number on speed dial as he lives quite close by and could come faster than anyone else. I couldn't help but feel warm inside at all the love and support people were giving me.        

After my neck and back became less tender I decided that I should really get myself back to school whether I liked it or not. I couldn't help but feel completely sick at the idea though as I knew damn fine that Dan was still there.        

Will insisted on walking with me to school, even though he almost made me late because he was having 'clothing issues'. I turned up to find him walking round his house almost naked apart from his boxers. Not that I was complaining, I'll admit it was quite a nice view. He wasn't the most buff guy in the world but he wasn't a stick and definitely had a good ass! I sat on the counter in his kitchen for a good ten minutes waiting for him to put some clothes on and when he finally appeared I had to do my best not to ogle.        

He was wearing a leather jacket, a white t-shirt, a pair of jeans which were tight fitting but not skinnys and a pair of black converses. It was simple but he definitely looked hot. Though I didn't feel attracted to him... strange. Maybe I'd just been in an odd mood that night at the dance. Though to be fair, anyone could have seemed better boyfriend material than Dan that night. 

“You enjoying the view babe?” He winked at me.        

“Ha. You wish,” I chuckled back, sliding off the counter and walking through the doorway into the hall before I felt Will grab my wrist and pull me into him. I gasped and looked up at him, his eyes were glistening as he wrapped his arms around me. I gulped nervously as I saw his eyes flick down to my lips quickly and he bent his head down towards me and kissed me lightly.         I froze. It didn't feel right. I didn't think of him like this. I put my hands on his chest and pushed him so he broke the kiss off. I frowned at the floor.        

“I- I just don't think I'm ready for that kind of thing,” I stuttered quietly, knowing that was only half true.        

“Yeah, I'm sorry. I understand - I got carried away,” he said, looking at the floor awkwardly.         “Come on, we gotta go or we're gonna be seriously late for school,” I laughed, trying to sound calm. He laughed and agreed, grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the door. At least that broke the awkwardness, I thought to myself as we ran down the street.        

When we charged into the school gates and ran up to the rest of our group with three minutes to spare we burst out laughing. After calming down we looked up to find them all staring at us with raised eyebrows which set us off again even harder.        

“So... I guess you had a good morning?” Andy laughed at us and we just looked at each other before looking down at the floor.        

The morning passed quickly as I tried to get back into my school mindset though I couldn't help but feel panicked at the idea of accidentally bumping in Dan. Luckily for me, we only had one class together which I didn't have today.        

We sat round in a circle on the grass at lunch, enjoying the sun which was making one of it's rare appearances. It felt just like an average day and no one had made any comments about Dan or anything – it was looking like it was going to be a brilliant day.        

Well it was until I felt a big pair of arms wrap round my waist and drag me backwards off my feet. I was twirled round and got a face full of hard chest. I stood froze to the spot as I breathed in the familiar scent and my heart started to pound and my palms were suddenly sticky.        

“Hey babe, missed your pretty lil' face lately.”        

I started shaking slightly, my breaths became short and my heart was beating in my head.
