How Long

JJ and Reid walked through the park, it was around 5 am and Jessica was with Henry.

JJ could see Reid was feeling very subconscious about the prosthetic running leg attached to his leg, as much as he tried to hide it he was clearly frightened by what people would think about his latest attachment.

And it didn't help he was in a pair of black running shots that really showed it off. JJ grabbed his hand and gave it squeeze, she was in the same getup as Reid.

Running shorts, tank top and running shoes, JJ's blonde hair had been pulled up into a tight ponytail her eyes standing out under the dim lighting form the sky.

Joggers started approaching them and JJ felt Reid tense beside her but the joggers gave him a thumbs up and kept on running,

JJ looked back to see he this adorable smile on his face indicating he had relaxed a little and was clearly more comfortable with his whole situation.

"Come on" she taught tugging him along as they reached the start of her favourite jogging trail, it ran straight past the lake and JJ loved to watch the sun rising.

She broke into a run and she could hear the sound of Reid's leg making contact with the ground and she looked over her shoulder to see him hobbling, she slowed down and felt her jump with joy when he broke into a slow jog clearly getting a hang of it.

She smiled as he jogged/hobbled to her side and then she stayed at his pace as they be began to jog there way through, JJ couldn't help but notice the gigantic smile on Reid's face.

The sound of Reid's heavy panting filled the silent path as he stopped and doubled over thing to suck oxygen back into his lungs.

"How long has it been" he panted clearly out of breathe as he supported himself on his knees, "five minutes" JJ said standing in front of him a smile on her face.

"Seriously" he panted and she nodded and he sighed, "afraid so" JJ said, resisting the urge to laugh at him, his face was bright red and his hear clung to his face from all the sweat.

"Why don't you just go to the coffee shop a block from here I'll meet you there" JJ offered but he shook his head "no I have to do this" he said as he re balanced himself so he was standing up.

"Are you sure" JJ asked and he nodded, "I can do this."

"How long has it been" Reid panted as he ran "nine minutes" JJ muttered, and he muttered something underneath his breathe "you go ahead" he said and she she nodded, without even breaking a sweat she took of running, listening as he yelled out to her "don't worry I'll be fine I'll just die over here having a heart attack" he said and she laughed as she kept on running.

JJ sat at the park bench taking a sip from her bottle of water as she waited for Reid to appear in her vision it had been over half an hour and JJ was beginning to fear that he actually had a heart attack.

The she heard it that noise his leg made whenever it made contact with ground, looking up she saw his bright red face, covered in sweat as he took the water out of her hands and took a big sip from it.

Panting he looked at her and smiled, his eyes filled with pride "I did it, I ran all that" he said between breaths he sat down beside her and she laughed kissing his cheek "yes, yes you did".
