I Missed You

Jennifer Jareau strode the hospital hallways Henry's hand clinging onto hers, his eyes red and puffy from all the crying, they had managed to transport Reid home where he would have to learn to walk with the metal object that would become his new foot.

JJ had gone with him, holding his hand the whole flight, as much as he hated to admit you could see the pain swirling around his eyes, and every night he would wake up screaming "I didn't leave her" but then refuse to talk about it.

When JJ told Henry the news the boy had burst into tears, insisting he saw him right now even though it was ten at night.

Henry was in his train pyjamas as JJ pointed out the room the little boy took off running clutching his favourite little blue bunny in his hands.

And immediately felt nervous when he saw all the machines and the noises coming from them.

Slowly approaching the bed he climbed up on a chair so he was now eye level with the doctor, as soon as his eyes met Reid's sleeping ones he burst into tears, once again and JJ rushed to his side, Henry turned and bury his shoulder and neck "is he dead" he whispered between sobs and JJ laughed "no sweetie he's sleeping, do you want to wake him up I'm sure he won't mind" JJ said softly into the little boys ear as she pushed the chair so it was right next to Reid's bed.

She placed Henry back down on the chair, and he stood up his face stained with tears "can I touch him" he asked his voice soft and JJ nodded, reaching gently Henry touched the doctors arm his eyes widening when Reid opened his eyes.

"Your awake" the little boy exclaimed happily as he grabbed Reid's hand his eyes lighting up.

"Yea I'm right here" Reid said giving the boys hand a squeeze, "I missed you" Henry said in a quiet voice as Reid laughed softly "I missed you to bud" he said and he watched as JJ smiled.

"Can I call you dad" Henry asked in an even smaller voice, Reid felt like his heart might burst with happiness "if that's what's you want" he said with a smile and Henry nodded "I want you to be my Dad".
