The elder continued the story of the raven. The raven felt sad for the people, the raven decided to set out on a great adventure in search of the light for the people. The raven flew across the mountain tops, through the deepest valleys, and over the largest lakes of the world; however the darkness was endless. The raven finally came upon light far off in the distance.

He flew in the direction of the light, coming closer and closer until he came upon the edge of the water. The light was shining down from the house of a chief that lay high above within the sky, the raven perched on the tallest pine tree on the shore.

He sat there observing and he saw a beautiful girl emerge from the house, she waded by the shore. She was the high chief's daughter, she kneeled down drinking some water from a woven basket and the raven transformed himself into a teeny pine needle falling down from the tree.
