These stories we tell breathe the life of our culture" he continued. These are commonalities that connected us as people, we all had our versions of events of how things came to be. We all had a story to tell. Those stories guided us to our beliefs of where the plants originated, how the animals were formed, and how our ancestors operated the world all those years before we came to be.

Other stories spoke of informative lore of family lineage, hunting routes, child bearing, and some told prophecies that depicted celestial and spiritual events. The man spoke proudly and freely "the story I will be telling you all tonight is the tale of the raven" he said.

I could see some of the older parent's look at eachother with a sign reminiscent of all those years ago when they were told the same tale as children, the elder started the story. "The world was coated in darkness for many years and the people lived within the cold darkness' ' he said.
