"Hi!"
"Took you long enough," The actress rolled her eyes.
Mallory just shook her head without responding and moved to check on the vegetables. As the aroma of the cottage pie filled Mallory's kitchen, she and August chatted about their childhood memories. Laughter and fond reminiscences flowed freely.
For a brief moment, the lively atmosphere caused Mallory to forget that she was on a live stream with thousands of viewers. In that instant, she slipped into a familiar habit of teasing her sister.
"Remember that time when you made me take you to Lili's house because you thought you had a chance with her after watching her in Harry Potter?" Mallory chuckled, sharing the memory without realizing she was live.
August's eyes widened, and her face flushed with laughter as she responded, "Why would you tell everyone that? You promised that you wouldn't tell anyone!"
Realization dawned on Mallory, and she gasped, covering her mouth in mock horror. "Oops! I totally forgot we were live! My apologies, Auggie!"
"You don't seem very sorry."
The comments section erupted with amusement, filled with viewers typing "LOL" and emoji's that Mallory didn't know the meaning of (why would you put a crying face if you were laughing? It made no sense to her) and claiming that August was 'relatable'. It seemed Mallory's slip-up had only made the experience more relatable and endearing to the audience.
"You are so lucky that there's a pandemic going on," August glared.
Mallory composed herself and continued with the recipe, occasionally glancing at the comments, where viewers expressed their love for the sisters' lively interaction. As they prepared the lemon-rosemary sauce together, Mallory couldn't help but feel grateful for the connection they shared and the bond they were strengthening with each passing moment.
taylorswift: im hungry hurry up
Mallory scoffed and left her phone before jogging upstairs to the master bedroom. Taylor looked like a deer caught in headlights when her wife opened the door.
"Mal..."
"Come on," Mallory took Taylor's phone and pulled her out of bed.
The blonde put up a fight. "August is sharing baby pics. I'd just leave me if I were you. She might bring out the mid-puberty pictures and they aren't pretty."
Mallory tilted her head and nodded. "You're right," She sighed, looking down at Taylor's phone. The singer furrowed her eyebrows as Mallory began rapidly typing something before handing the phone back. She smiled and kissed her cheek before walking back downstairs just in time to see everyone asking if she had tweeted that from Taylor's phone.
"I gotta go, guys. It's dinner time. Thank you for helping me- mentally- cook. Love you, guys, mwah!" She ended the live and plated their food before calling Taylor down. The blonde came rushing down with a smile.
They ate and washed the dishes, humming along to the song in their heads. Taylor hopped on the kitchen counter. Mallory dried her hands and turned to her wife.
"Hi."
"Hi."
In that moment, they communicated volumes without saying a word. Taylor's eyes sparkled with affection, and Mallory's eyes softened with tenderness. They were two halves of a whole, their love so palpable it seemed to fill the air around them.
Unable to resist the magnetic pull of their connection, Mallory gently set down the rag in her hand and walked forward, cupping Taylor's face in her hands. Their lips met in a passionate kiss, each movement born from years of understanding and love. It was a dance of affection, a symphony of emotions, and their love swelled like a crescendo.
