"Hey, come in," you smiled to Niall who entered your home.
"Is he in?" Niall asked, referring to his band mate, Harry, who also happened to be your brother.
"No of course he's not, I wouldn't have invited you over if he was," you laughed and he relaxed.
"I'm sorry, it's just, me and Harry are so close and it's so awkward being around him now when he talks about you because I already know every fact he tells me." He chuckled, settling down on the couch next to you and you smiled in response.
You and Niall had been together for four months now and had been dating secretly, with only Liam and Louis aware of your relationship.
"Y/N?" He called, fidgeting as he repetitively fiddled with his fingers, anxiously.
"What is it?" You asked.
"Should we tell Harry? You know I'd like to go public at some point and I know he won't be happy about it, so why don't we just get it out of the way with? This is a relationship that I take seriously and I want him to know." He said.
"I-I don't know, I get where your coming from but maybe it's still too soon." You said, unsure.
"But we've been together for four months now, which is quite a while for him not to know." He continued.
"I think Harry needs to know, please at least think about it?" He added.
"I need to know what?" You heard from the doorway as you both turned around to see Harry stood in the doorframe, neither of you realising he was there.
You looked at Niall as he looked at you with pleading, watery eyes. You knew he wanted you to tell him, especially now that you had the opportunity to.
"Um...well, not much really, just the fact that me and Niall have been together for the past four months." You blurted out, looking away from Harry and shutting your eyes tightly.
You opened your eyes to see Harry looking at you both with an expression that was hard to even try to read. He stood blinking at you both silently, making you feel anxious.
"I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner, we did want to." Niall added.
"Four months? Together? As in dating?" Harry asked, his tongue sticking out to the side as his leg began to bounce.
"Yes," you admitted, quietly.
"You didn't think to tell me? Any of you?" Harry exclaimed.
"Not really, we didn't think you'd accept us and when we did try to tell you, we ended up telling the boys first and they said it would be best to wait a while." Niall explained.
"So they knew before me? Wow, it's good to know where I stand on your list of priorities." He scoffed.
"Wait, so your not mad that were together?" You asked, confused.
"Well I'm not exactly overjoyed, but at least if it's my best friend I can keep an eye on him and I know he's a good guy. But I'm mad at the fact that you didn't tell me, I know I can be overprotective sometimes, but I wouldn't have stopped you from seeing each other, it wouldn't have been fair. I would've had no right to do that." He explained.
"But you've always been protective over who I date," you told him.
"Protective, but not obsessive." He corrected you.
"I'm sorry Harry, we didn't mean to hide it for so long, it kind of just happened." Niall said and he sighed.
"I'm sorry for not telling you too, but I thought you would be more mad because he's your best friend." You continued.
"It's okay, I just hope you know that you can trust me and I hope that you tell me things like this in the future. Both of you." He said sternly and we nodded.
"Oh and Niall?" He called, just as he began to walk away.
"Don't look so nervous, I accept you into my family and I don't mind you being with my sister, although if you hurt her, that's when you might want to be nervous." Harry smiled, walking away.
"That was easier than I expected." Niall laughed.
"I know, I thought it would be much harder than that," you admitted.
"True, but now it means I can do this," he began, before leaning in and attaching your lips to his in a gentle, but loving kiss.
"Without being anxious in case Harry was to come into the room." He finished with a smile and you laughed.
