You were sitting on the sofa, watching TV when you heard a bang come from upstairs.
You jumped as it sounded really close and turned your TV down to listen out for any more sounds.
You put the remote down, deciding to continue watching TV, but to continue to listen out for any noises. You managed to calm yourself down slightly before you heard another bang.
You quickly got up, wanting to leave but deciding you should probably go and see if there's anyone in.
"Hello?" You called shakily as you walked up the stairs.
You couldn't hear anymore noise, but you decided to check out each room anyway.
First, you checked the bathroom, quickly pushing it open as it smacked against the wall, creating a loud banging sound as no one was there.
You began to shake as you edged closer towards the bedroom, shakily gripping the door handle as you opened the door quickly.
You screamed, only getting a glimpse of a man with his back towards you in a black coat. You didn't notice what colour his hair was as the first thing you thought to do was to run.
"Y/N!" You heard your name being called.
How did he know my name? You thought.
The amount of adrenaline that was pumping around your body was enough to make you shake as you tried to grip the door handle to leave, struggling to unlock the door.
You felt two strong arms wrap around your waist as you were lifted up slickly and turned away from the door.
"Let go of me!" You screamed as he turned you to face him, trying to make 'shushing' noises which didn't seem to help to cease your fear.
The light was dimly lit, making it more difficult to be able to see his features.
"It's me! Would you calm down!" The familiar Irish accent exclaimed as you immediately calmed down.
"Niall! What are you doing?" You shouted, pushing him away from you.
"I came home from tour early, I'm sorry if I scared you," he said.
"Why were you in the bedroom when I didn't even know you were home?!" You yelled, still terrified from what could've been a worse situation.
"I was planning a bubble bath for you in the en-suit bathroom, I didn't mean to scare you and I managed to come in and go upstairs without you noticing because the TV was on, that is until I dropped my phone twice," he said, scoffing at the last sentence.
"A bubble bath? Why?" You asked, puzzled.
Of course Niall had done romantic gestures like this before, but he had just gotten back from tour and he looked tired.
"Because I've been away for so long so I haven't been able to do anything romantic for you." He explained.
"So when you had ran the bath, were you planning on sneaking into the living room and scaring me from behind the sofa?" You asked with a laugh as you took a deep breath, the adrenaline still running from the recent events.
"No, I was going to come down and shout for you. My idea doesn't seem like it would have worked either way." He chuckled, wrapping you into a hug.
You breathed in his scent, realising how much you had missed him as you wrapped your arms around him with a sigh.
"Why are you home three weeks earlier? I've missed you so much and I didn't expect this at all." You said.
"I missed you too princess and we actually set the last tour dates earlier so we could finish earlier, I just didn't tell you because I wanted it to be a surprise." He smiled, his blue eyes twinkling in happiness as he kissed your forehead.
"It was certainly a surprise." You muttered.
"I know and I'm sorry about that." He laughed.
"It's okay, at least this bath might hopefully relax me and thank you for doing such a lovely thing when you've just gotten back from tour." You said, leaning in to kiss him, something you hadn't been able to do for months.
"Your welcome, it's something I wanted to do for you." He mumbled against your lips before pressing them together again.
"Come on, maybe I can join," he suggested with a flirtatious wink.
"You know what? You can do what you like, I'm just so glad your back." You smiled, genuinely.
