I walked into the living room to find my eighteen month old son standing up and holding onto the sofa as Niall sat across from him.
"Charlie, can you walk to daddy?" Niall asked to your son as he just giggled at Niall across the room.
I smiled, taking out my phone from my pocket and beginning to record them.
"Can you walk to daddy?" Niall asked again as charlie giggled again, reaching his small hand out to Niall.
"Come on then, daddy's over here." Niall said, sitting on his knees on the floor as he tried to encourage charlie to walk.
Charlie placed his right foot first and took two steps as Niall and I looked at him proudly.
"Well done charlie! Are you okay standing there or do you want daddy to come and get you?" Niall cooed as charlie stood still.
Charlie looked at Niall with a grin on his face as he placed his hand back on the sofa that wasn't too far behind him.
Charlie had said his first word already, which happened to be daddy but he hadn't spoken since, so encouraging charlie to walk and talk was a big thing for Niall as he was so proud of his son.
Charlie giggled at Niall again before he ran straight across the room to Niall, holding his arms out at Niall as Niall quickly caught him and picked him up.
"Charlie, you scared me! You little runner." Niall laughed, clutching his chest at the heart touching moment.
He hugged charlie close to him, kissing his forehead as he beamed with happiness.
"You ran to your daddy, your such a clever boy." Niall smiled at his son as he giggled before pointing over to me.
"Mummy!" He exclaimed with a giggle as tears escaped my eyes in happiness.
"You want to go to mummy?" Niall asked as he held Charlie's hand as if scared to let him run off again in case he fell as he gently walked him over to me.
I stopped recording, putting my phone away and picking up my little boy as he giggled.
"We've got ourselves a little runner." Niall smiled, kissing my lips as he hugged us both.
Charlie was a perfect addition to our family and I was so proud of our boy. He was certainly very adventurous.
