Monday, August 19th

I was summoned by the head of the school yesterday night to come in early today, and prepare for the welcoming assembly for the first day of the new semester. He didn't specify why I needed to come in early in the email, but he did say that it was for a cluster of new students that were joining the roster, and I suspected that my new neighbor would be one of them.
I put my uniform on which consisted of a black and white plaid skirt, a white blouse underneath the black blazer that was embroidered with our school's crest. Of course what's an academy uniform without the proper matching tie. Once I finished changing I decided to opt for some basic makeup of just mascara, eyeliner, and some gloss.
Once I spritzed on some perfume, I ran downstairs to meet Varushka ready with my bag and essentials. "May you have a good day at school today Miss Evangeline," she says with a smile.
I return the smile and call out Josh's name as he grumbles coming down the stairs. "Why do we have to go early again?" He groans.
"Because I have a meeting with the headmaster and you need a ride to school," I say as I grab the keys to the Masserati that my parents let me borrow. They said I could take it to school while they're overseas.
"Next time I'm walking," he says as he trails out of the house. I lock up the door behind me and we both slip into the sleek black car.
When you first look at Hollow Grove Academy, it looks like a college campus with the large gates and school crest on the front. It resembled a miniature castle and others liked to refer to our school as a Hogwarts look-alike. I entered with ease and parked in the large lot that only had a few cars.
My job as class president was to be the welcoming committee to new students and check in with all of the clubs and sports teams to give them anything that they may need. On the first day of the semester, I pretty much had to order a meeting with all captains and presidents of each club and team to prepare for the year.
Josh heads towards the library while I head for the headmaster's room when we enter the school's main hallway. I greet some of the teachers that have arrived early this morning and find myself waiting in the lobby for the secretary to let me inside the office.
"He's ready for you Evangeline," the secretary says with a smile. I nod at her and prep myself before heading inside.
"Oh, good morning Ms. Sinclair, I'm glad you're here this early," Mr. Vince says with a cheery smile. His office smelled of freshly made coffee and was decorated with frames of all of his accomplishments.
On the outside, Mr. Vince looked rather scary and kind of grumpy, but he was overall really nice and understanding. He's been one of the best headmasters we've had at this school so far.
