Waiting for news

Marshall couldn't breathe they had been at the hospital for over an hour and still hadn't heard anything. He texted all his friends and Everest, Chase, Rocky and Skye were all there with him.

Chase: I know this is hard Marshall but he might be okay

Marshall: I don't know what I am going to do Chase, I can't

Everest hugged him she didn't really know what she could say to help her boyfriend right now but she did know what it was like to lose a father.

Lizzie: Marshy is daddy okay

Marshall: I don't know Lizzie

Lizzie: I am scared Marshy, what is going to happen to us?

Skye: its okay Lizzie, my mom will help you

Lizzie: she will?

Skye: yup its what she does, but let's just hope your dad is okay

The waiting room soon filled up with firefighters as well, one of them came up to Marshall he recognized him right away,

Lieutenant Casey: Marshall I am so sorry about your dad

Marshall: what happened?

Lieutenant Casey: the building we were in collapsed he fell a few stories down, we were able to get him out but he wasn't breathing when we did.

Marshall: I can't lose him

Lieutenant Casey: I know buddy he is the best chief we ever had we don't want to lose him either, our paramedics were able to get him here and breathing again. We are hoping he will be okay.

Marshall: if he isn't okay then what happens to us?

Lieutenant Casey: I don't know bud did your dad have a will?

Marshall: I don't know

A doctor came out and looked at everyone, 

Dr. Wilson: I am looking for the chief's family

Marshall: that's me is he okay?

Dr. Wilson: he is in surgery right now, its touch and go. There is a lot going on he sustained some very serious injuries. Right now he is alive but we won't know anything until he makes it out of surgery if he does

Marshall: what kind of injuries?

Dr. Wilson: he has a very serious head injury and it is what is worrying us the most. There was some internal bleeding and we are not sure where it was coming from. I have several teams working on him now, and he also has a broken leg

Everest hugged Marshall he was crying and Lizzie was also crying as Marshall hugged her,

Lieutenant Casey: we are all here for you Marshall, anything you guys need okay

Marshall: thanks but right now all I need is my dad

The firefighters were all worried for their chief and they felt for his son but they did need to get back to work. They promised to check in later, Chase texted everyone and kept them updated they all agreed to take shifts and have something with Marshall at all times. Chase and Everest were first as Skye and Rocky had to go home.

Chase: what can we get for you Marshall?

Marshall: nothing I am fine

Chase: Lizzie?

Lizzie: I just want daddy

Chase: I know can we at least get you some food?

Marshall: I am not hungry but Lizzie you should eat
