"Are you sure? I know how overwhelmed you get and I just-"
"It's okay," Mallory repeated, "It's different 'cause it's you."
Taylor stopped and looked down she gave a weak smile before sighing. She suddenly didn't want to tell Mallory what Tree was planning, but she knew she had to.
"Are you okay?" The brunette then asked, sensing Taylor's hesitance.
The blonde shook her head, "Um, Tree thinks... Tree thinks we should spend some time apart to get the paparazzi off our backs."
Mallory nodded and looked down, "How apart?"
"She wants you to be in London and me in New York for at least a month, probably more," Taylor whispered guiltily, "But I can tell her no if-"
"It's okay," Mallory repeated for the umpteenth time, slipping her eyes shut, "I'll go back to London. Inez and Nathan need help with baby Tay anyway. And, you should go see your parents! I'm sure they miss you."
"Mallory," Taylor continued, "She wants us, you, to be seen with different people, too."
Oh.
"She thinks that if you're seen with another woman, the paps will leave you alone."
"Because I'm only important because I'm friends with Taylor Swift?" Mallory laughed bitterly, running her hand through her hair in a way Taylor thought made her even more attractive than usual.
"Of course not-"
"Don't worry," Mallory stood up, holding the blonde's waist and pulling her closer, "I'll do what Tree wants, for you." She said, stealing a kiss, "When do I have to go?"
"Tree says tonight," Taylor murmured.
"What do you say?"
"Stay the night?" Taylor asked, tiptoeing to kiss Mallory's lips. The brunette nodded as the kiss got more needy.
Taylor's hands worked quickly to untie the knot on Mallory's jogging bottoms, "Stop."Her hands fell down to her sides in fear that she had done something wrong until Mallory chuckled, "If you rush, I won't have a reason to stay the night."
The blonde groaned as Mallory kissed down her neck softly and slowly, carefully backing her into the wall, holding her up.
"How's Taylor Junior doing?" The blonde whispered suddenly.
"What?" Mallory broke away and furrowed her eyebrows.
"I just," Taylor coughed, sensing that she had ruined the mood, "I haven't asked about him. How are Taylor Junior and Inez doing?"
"They're good," Mallory grinned, "They got out of hospital a few days before my birthday, which you knew. Nathan's going crazy making sure everything is baby-proofed to the max. Inez is tired all of the time, but Nathaniel makes a conscious effort to take care of baby Tay when he's not at work. He's a good dad," Taylor matched her smile. She loved Inez's little family, "Taylor Junior is eating lots, too."
The blonde smirked when Mallory said Taylor Junior instead of baby Tay. Mallory wrapped her arm around Taylor's shoulder as they walked over to the bedroom where they collapsed in a tangle of limbs.
"Are we okay?" Taylor felt the need to as as Mallory cuddles into her chest.
"We're always going to be okay," She murmured, "If we're ever not okay, it's a higher force pulling the strings and we'll know and find our way back to each other."
"Look at you, ever the poet," Taylor joked.
Mallory hummed, "I've been hanging around with a rather eloquent speaker." She said before sighing, "Do I really have to be seen with another woman?"
