The three watched her closely, deciding that there was something wrong. Something that they'd confront her about in the morning.
Mallory collapsed onto her bed and turned on her phone, shuddering at her Lock Screen- a photo of Taylor with Lexie, Meredith, and Dibbles, trying to get them to do tricks.
Mal 💘: I love you
Tay 🏹: I love you too Tay 🏹: Are you okay?
Mal 💘: Yeah I just wanted to remind you
Tay 🏹: Well, consider me reminded! Tay 🏹: Just so you know, I love you more.
Mal 💘: Not possible
Tay 🏹: Whatever 🙄 Tay 🏹: I've got to go, Tree's glaring at me from across the table...
Mal 💘: It's okay. Mal 💘: Bye, Taylor
When Mallory awoke the next morning, her head was buzzing and the raw patches of skin were stinging. She groaned inwardly, forcing herself up and trudged to the bathroom. She looked through the medicine cabinet until she found a soothing balm and rubbed the patches before looking at her neck.
She gagged before doubling over the toilet and spilling her guts. Mallory stood back up and flushed the toilet before finding out her mouth and brushing her teeth. The brunette left the bathroom and entered her kitchen, frowning when her siblings looked at her.
"What?" She asked.
"What happened last night?" James asked.
Mallory tensed before relaxing and shutting her eyes, "I had a run in with Lea," She murmured, the three all stood up, either rushing to Mallory's aid or plotting Lea's downfall, "She dragged me into an alley and kissed me."
"Did she-" Mallory shook her head, "She only kissed you?" She nodded.
"I'm going to kill her," Ana spat.
Mallory's eyes fluttered shut as tears streamed out of them, "I tried to get away."
"We know," James was hesitant to pull her in for a hug, but wrapped his arms around her tightly when she threw herself at him.
"Why does everyone feel the need to hurt me?" Mallory cried into his shoulder, "I just want to go home. I want Taylor."
James looked to Ana, who nodded and took out her phone, leaving the room as she made a call. Betty said nothing, but joined the hug, trying to keep her own tears at bay.
"I want Lexie," As if on cue, the cat ran into the room and wrapped herself around her owner's legs. Mallory let out a mix between a sob and a laugh as she let go of her siblings and sat on the floor, holding the cat close to her.
"What's going on?" Laila asked as she walked into the room with her husband. She met eyes with James and they seemed to have a silent conversation before Laila nodded, "Mallory, sweetheart, are you okay?"
Mallory ignored her grandmother, focusing solely on the softness of Lexie. The family worked around her for the rest of the day, leaving meals in front of her, and she stayed there the whole day. Only when night arrived did she stand.
Mallory turned to James and Anastasia, "I can't go back until the hickey is gone," She murmured, "Taylor can't- she can't see it."
They nodded hesitantly and Mallory retreated to her bedroom.
The hickey didn't go away from another five days, which meant they had stayed the week anyway. On the plane ride back, Mallory stayed awake the whole 17 hours with a single question floating around her head;
Would Taylor hate her?
