SANDISO

We decided on the Local Grill. While I was initially sceptical, Entle, being more familiar with the place, convinced me to give it a try.

"Trust me," she insisted.

"Fine, if the food sucks, you're paying," I declared.

"Fine, you have yourself a deal," she agreed.

As we ordered and our food arrived, we dug in.

"And?" she inquired.

"I guess I'll be paying then," I admitted.

"Obviously! I know my JHB," she boasted.

"Whatever. Where are you from anyway?" I asked.

"I'm from KZN. And you?" she responded.

"I'm from Mthatha," I replied.

"Xhosa... Nice," she commented.

"Coloured, but whatever. Ever been?" I questioned.

"Just once for a weekend, though," she answered.

"You should stay for more than a weekend; it's an awesome place," I suggested.

"With your 'So what' lounge and stuff?" she teased.

"Trust me, you would have fun there," I assured.

"Whatever. Ever been to KZN?" she asked.

"I was there last December, sweetie," I shared.

"Wow, really?" she exclaimed.

"Yeah. The parents own a beach house in Umhlanga," I explained.

"Wow. So you're a rich boy?" she teased.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.

"You live in Sandton, and your parents own a beach house," she pointed out.

"You also live in Sandton," I countered.

"Except my folks don't own some beach house," she retorted.

"Then where are you from in KZN?" I inquired.

"I'm from Amanzimtoti," she answered.

"Amanzimtoti is a beautiful place, mos," I remarked.

"Obviously, but it's too quiet," she complained.

"So is Sandton, sweetie," I quipped.

After settling the bill at the restaurant, we headed back to the flat. As we entered, Sbu and Ash were in the lounge, appearing quite cozy. I couldn't help but wonder if Sbu was in love with this chick.

"You still here?" I questioned.

"Get used to it," Ash replied.

"So, this is where you've been hiding, lady," Entle teased.

"Shut up," Ash retorted.

"So where did you two go?" Sbu inquired.

"Bowling in Rosebank," I answered.

"And you didn't invite us? How was Entle? She sucks at bowling," Ash commented.

"I do not," Entle protested.

"I taught her a thing or two," I defended.

"Thank you. Now we can finally play a good game," Ash acknowledged.

"Whatever," Entle mumbled.

Now on the couches, I sat on one single couch, and Entle on the other.

"Get a room, you two," I remarked as Sbu and Ash began kissing.
