Sister's Love

Steph.

 

Kasama kong naglalakad patungo sa room ni Zeph si Miguel. The operation went well and she's now in recovery state. Sabi ni Kuya Ezekiel ay hindi pa siya nagigising mula operation niya. Perhaps her body just needs rest.

"Hindi tayo magtatagal dito, ha? You need to rest too." Sabi ni Miguel.

Ngumiti ako at tumango. Naramdaman ko ang pagpisil niya sa aking kamay at saka niya ako binigyan ng matamis na ngiti.

And I felt myself blushed upon his smile. Weird as may sound but we've decided to fix our marriage. Perhaps, we can work it out. We may not love each other yet but I know if we can be friends for now, everything will fall into its proper places.

Besides, this is what Zeph wants for us.

And with that thought, I couldn't help but to feel even guiltier because I accused her of ruining my marriage which is definitely wrong. Miguel told me how Zeph got angry with him when he told her that we're getting an annulment.

I sighed. Marami talaga akong dapat ihingi ng tawad sa kanya.

Nang makarating kami sa tapat ng private room niya ay nagtinginan pa ulit kami ni Miguel. He smiled a little and gave me a chaste kiss. "You ready?" Miguel asked.

I nodded. "I think I am."

Binuksan niya ang pinto tapos ay pumasok kami. Nadatnan namin doon si Jayson na nakayuko sa kama ni Zeph na natutulog ngayon. Balita ko kay Kuya ay hindi pa umuuwi si Jayson and that's my goal now. I want him to rest so he can prepare for my sister.

Bumitaw ako kay Miguel at saka ako lumapit kay Jayson. I tap his shoulders at maya-maya ay nagising na ito.

He was a little bit disoriented dahil natabig niya ang aking kamay. But when he was already fully awake ay agad-agad itong nagsorry.

"S-sorry... a-are you okay?" Umuwang ang aking bibig sa sinseridad ng kanyang boses.

I am shocked and it feels like I'm just dreaming. I didn't expect this from him. Akala ko ay galit pa rin siya sa akin.

Umiling ako. "Aren't you angry with me? Ako ang may pakana ng lahat ng kaguluhan."

 

He breathed out heavily at saka bumalik sa kinauupuan niya kanina. Hinawakan niya ang kamay ni Zeph at marahang hinalikan ito. "Steph, I can't be angry with you. Alam mo iyan. Besides, hindi lang naman ikaw ang may kasalanan. Kasalanan ko rin because I was so jealous and I let that fvcking jealousy to control me."

 

"B-but I blackmailed you..." I said. Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala. I can still remember how he looked at me that night, when Zeph got into an accident.

"And I was just so weak to be ruled by it. Hindi ko naipaglaban ang pag-ibig ko kay Zeph. I thought I was doing the right thing but I was wrong. I hurt her big time and that alone makes me want to kill myself. I shouldn't have done that." He said at saka ulit hinalikan ang kamay ni Zeph.
