Fluffier than a fish

Tony, inevitably, was the one to rescue them.

"So, Petzo, how are Bert and Ernie's high school counterparts holding up?" He tilted his head at the question, leaving the bowl in the sink for the future stress cleaners as he crossed the counter over to a stool.

"Ned and MJ..?" Peter guessed, continuing when there was no objection, "oh! They're doing well I think. Ned's parents are going for another trip to Germany so he's going to be staying with his grandma again, now that the hype of what happened has all blown over, and I think MJ has just been hanging out as his place,". He swung his legs from where he sat down, letting them stick to the counter base before dropping them and kicking the other one forward in repetition.

"Ned's parents travel a lot" Tony hummed, remembering hearing of other various trips in passing.

"Yeah, he's got his own room at his nana's because of that"

"Interesting".

Tony wondered wether or not paying for the other kid's parent's trips would be a subtle enough 'thank you' for sticking with Peter throughout it all, atop the general free-ride scholarships and secured job he always offered (although he didn't doubt that anyone able to keep up with Peter already had ample means to succeed in life).

He was cut short by a stream of laughter, cutting in and out as if someone was repeatedly pressing the mute button on a remote.

Eyes shooting up to the source, he watched as Peter plummeted through a string of portals, Stephen's amused expression adding to the scenery.

As if sensing Tony's confused gaze, Stephen lazily claimed something about Peter saying he was bored, but it was difficult to hear over the joyful shouts. Tony didn't mind though.

That day hadn't been as eventful as most. With Harley gone, and Peter still on a nervous high, the chaos had dipped down considerably.

Peter hadn't even had much of a chance to really go crazy either, as he'd been stuck with his camera on all day introducing himself to his new teaching.

Tony promised that class would only be there until the end of the year, so he could stay with a few familiar faces (students from his school who went online after the 'incident'), before Tony would pull him out and homeschool him for real. This last part went unmentioned.

That was primarily because Tony knew Peter didn't even actually need anything else from high school for his life. No matter what happened, he'd always have a home with the Stark business, but the teen had already proven himself more than capable enough to catch up with some of the world's greatest minds. That was no small feat, and technically he wouldn't even actually need collage at that rate.

However, Tony was aware of a kid's needs for a social life and wanting to fit in as much as possible, so he'd still keep up the illusion of school. He would most certainly be dropping most of the unnecessary structures the American school system provided, and replacing them with actual stuff Peter would use.

The option would always be open for a normal coarse, but honestly Tony could care less about wether or not some fictional character's actions were justified once learning their backstory.

The author has nothing against it, and mostly enjoys prompts questioning wether or not a character was truly in the right or if it was mortal sympathy raising the question, but the Stark household was essentially just a literature hate club for anything irrelevant to their specific interests. Tony intended to keep it that way.

It was over as it began, in the kitchen at the dinner table, with one key factor missing.

"Did Harley really have to go home?" Peter asked for the third time, poking at the homemade chili in front of them.
