Peter made his way through the crowded walkways of the city. He had memorized his route through pointless fantasies online, so there was no way he'd forget it with one wrong turn.

Or so he thought..

At the moment, he was standing outside of a corner store gas station, practically the exact opposite of his desired location. Which just so happened to be the legendary Stark Tower.

He muttered a curse under his breath, apologizing immediately after and pulling out his phone. After nearly 20 minutes of wondering around aimlessly, he arrived in front of the tall building. He sucked in a breath, making his way in.

His first steps in felt like magic, walking on a cloud in a dream almost. He did his best to suppress his excitement when walking in, even though it wasn't his first time. Shifting his backpack, Peter stepped up to the receptionist's desk.

He'd never actually been in this part of the building. Last time they went in through the tunnel driveway, which meant he really didn't have any verification to be here. The lady rose an eyebrow in question as he stood there and thought what to do.

"May I help you?" She asked politely, using her costumer voice.

Peter, despite being all mighty and really strong, didn't know a single thing about talking to people with authority. This woman seemed like she had authority.

"Listen kiddo, I like your goldfish impression and all, but I've got some work I need done and can't just ignore you" she spoke in a normal tone, already having overworked her shifts and her partner's, who was out sick with some recently developed sickness.

Peter attempted to redeem himself.

"I.. uh, I'm here for an interview?" He tried, remembering something about that last time he was there, "I don't really have any sheets or anything for proof.. but I was just told to come here. I don't know what to do after that.." He did not think this through.

"Alrighty! Thank you, do you have the name of the person who offered a job?" She asked, not really caring if the kid was lying or not, security was well enough that if he tried anything he'd be dealt with accordingly.

Peter was so screwed. He can't just say 'oh yeah, my buddy Tony Stark, what a chad, told me we're gonna go mess with bots for a couple hours, like every teen's dream'. As if she'd let him stay in the building after that bs lie. Not having anything else to do, he told the truth.

"Uh.. Tony Stark..?" He muttered, genuinely ready to just die right there then and now.

"Tony Stark. Awesome". She began typing away, 100% not believing him but also not caring. Sort of a perk of staying up on a 32 no-sleep trip to coffee land.

Sending an email to the famous man, she instructed him to go sit in one of the waiting chairs. If he wasn't here for a real interview, that was Tony's problem.

Peter sat down nervously, needing something to do to calm him down. Pulling out his headphones, he started watching some of his favorite engineering videos to get some inspiration.

It was about 20 minutes and two videos in before Tony actually came down. The lady at the desk wasn't expecting that at all, more pleasantly surprised and humored that the kid wasn't lying.

"Heya kiddo" Tony spoke smoothly, tapping the kid's head to grab his attention. "Ready to go?"

Peter jumped, looking up to the intruder. His face involuntarily lit up, ideas fresh in his mind.

Tony laughed at the excitement, flattered at how expressive he got so quickly, "C'mon, I've got another private elevator".

Peter followed along, waving a small goodbye to the desk lady. She waved back with a small smile. Tony opened the elevator, FRIDAY's greeting as wonderful as ever.
