"Is be okay?"
"Not for long" Tony grabbed out a glass from the cabinet, pouring himself a cup of water before hopping on the counter next to Stephan, facing Peter.
Peter honestly had no clue what Tony could legally do to Harley that would make for a good punishment. Harley seemed pretty good at making due with the usual ones such as grounding to his room or whatever, which promptly stopped when a very unflatteringly well drawn picture of Tony showed up on the fridge of the common room. He was not the first to find it.
"So! Ladies, what lovely conversation did I step into? I'm feeling a bit of a sentimental happy vibe, so I gotta know when I should split before things get all mushy" he downed the drink quickly.
Quicker than he'd expected, clearly, leaning towards to the sink to fill it up before Stephen reached over and took it from him, Peter gaining a free magic show as Stephen refilled the water without standing up.
"Thanks gorgeous".
Tony leaned over and planted a kiss on Stephen's cheek, accepting the cup back and taking a sip. Stephen just gave a small smile, looking down to the man next to him.
Peter had to admit that it was cute, but he'd rather die than say that.
"You guys are gross" he scowled, scrunching his face up.
"Awe, poor babyy" Tony pouted, setting the now half-empty cup down next to him.
Stephen chuckled, shaking his head.
Tony, upon discovering joy from Peter's childish discomfort, grabbed Stephen's face and tilted it towards his own, planting a grin-filled kiss onto the other man's lips. The two were smiling like idiots, barley able to actually call it a kiss and more of just two men who's happy faces happened to be touching on the mouth.
"Ew ew ew ew ew" Peter covered his eyes, hopping off of the counter to make his exit to his room.
"Hey, get back here!" Tony called, hopping of the counter after him, "I'm not done agonizing children yet!".
Stephen just smiled, watching them go.
He loved those dumbasses. All three of them. More than he'd ever care to admit.
There was a shout down the hall, Tony dragging Peter back in from underneath his arms. Peter wasn't struggling so much against it, otherwise he'd've been able to pry himself away with ease. Both were laughing, Peter surprisingly okay with the impromptu kidnapping.
Stephen's smile faltered.
He looked away for a moment.
Sometimes, it was hard to imagine what had actually happened. He didn't want to think about it, but he also didn't want to be left in the dark, for Peter's sake. Peter never deserved any of it.
Stephen had heard every version of the recent story available, but Peter had refused to talk about pretty much anything besides the hits he took. When asked how far the man had gone outside of violence, he never answered. Stephen hated that.
It was genuinely a miracle how quickly Peter had overcome it all it was as if..
As if..
Stephen blinked.
He watched the two tussle with a soft smile, Tony shouting about his hair was getting ruined by a teen twice in the last hour, and how he would not stand for it.
Stephen couldn't help that feel like something was off though. Not in a bad way, but as if he had missed something.
It was nagging at him.
