Tony's about to evict a kid

Start from the beginning

"Two. Feet." He stated, pointing between the two of them.

"Okay, okay Mr Stark" Peter chuckled, sitting up.

Harley was still laying in his back, rolling around in the grass like a dog that just discovered snow.

"You kids are going to the death of me" Tony muttered, accidentally initiating the most Dad Pose ™️ Peter had ever seen in his life.

He walked back, Peter immediately crawling back over to lay on Harley's chest again.

They took a breather, Harley letting his hand flop to Peter's collarbone. He traced along that spot for a little while after they'd calmed down.

"Man I wish I was as buff as you" Harley's voice vibrated through his lungs, graveling against Peter's neck.

"I wish I was as hot as you" Peter replied, looking up to the sky.

He was glad it was day instead of night. It would be harder to enjoy this if it reminded him too much of the night he'd seen Skip for the first time.

Harley sighed.

"Maybe one day. You'd have to find a pretty good makeup artist. Probably even a plastic surgeon" he moved his hand up to Peter's hair.

Peter closed his eyes. He'd still not cut his hair.

His excuse was that he kinda liked the long hair (which Harley made many unrepeatable quips about), but in reality, he couldn't really stand having someone else moving their hands through his hair. Not after the 'date' he'd been forced into 'blew up' in his face.

Harley had no clue, so Peter generally just let him do it anyhow. It was a little easier to ignore when he was assured by the constant heartbeat beneath him, and almost started to feel normal again.

Only for Harley though. Wanda had complained about it needing a trim a couple of days ago, her hand barley brushing his head, and he nearly jumped out of the way of her in reaction. Harley had just done it enough that it had to be those specific hands, otherwise Peter couldn't sit still.

It was like a miracle to discover he actually started to like it again. He bit his nail.

Maybe things could get better.

The park trip ended not long after, once a couple of the kids had started getting sunburned. Tony took note that maybe he should've given the mole people some sunscreen before they went out.

No one complained too much. It was a nice trip, and Tony had the park reserved for at least another two days, so they'd be able to go back whenever they pleased.

Tony opted to be the one sitting next to Harley that ride, prepared to give the rascal a 'talk' on the way back.

So now, Peter was sitting next to Stephen, who's calm demeanor was a nice change of pace from the hectic day Peter had had.

Don't get him wrong, Harley was the love of his life or whatever, but taking time to himself was always healthy when he needed it.

"How are you feeling, Peter?" Stephen asked, after a long while of peace.

Peter opened his eyes, messing with his fingers.

"Better" was all he replied.

Stephen had been checking up on him every other day, the same question every time. Peter had his ups and downs between them, Friday informing the adults of some particularly bad ones, but Peter was doing a fantastic job staying calm. He seemed to be doing even better than when he first got there.

Stephen had worried that perhaps Peter had been hiding it all, but the more he looked, the less he found.

It was as if Peter had changed.
