At last, Mario and Co. have restored the sunny blue sky to Flower Fields. But they still had the Star Spirit to save from Huff N. Puff. Now with the beanstalk ingredients in hand, they return to Wise Wisterwood.

As they got near Wise Wisterwood, the Bub-ulbs and flowers cheered them on. Lakilester stayed behind, knowing the Bub-ulbs don't trust him. Mario saw this and walked over to him.

"Get over there, Lakilester," Mario said holding out his hand, "They won't know if they like you unless you try."

Lakilester gained some confidence that time and walked with Mario into the crowd. the Bub-ulbs were shocked and confused that Mario would team up with a Lakitu.

"I know some of you would be confused as to why me and my bro would team up with a Lakitu," Mario said, "But Lakilester here, has proven that people like him can change their ways. Both for good or bad. And we couldn't have saved Flower Fields without his help."

"He's right, everyone," Wise Wisterwood added, "Our friend's new companion just wants to find his best path. But if you continue your hatred towards him just for his species. His and my future will be miserable than the dark days we've been put through."

The Bub-ulbs were touched by the words of Mario and Wise Wisterwood and thanked Lakilester for saving their home. Just then Lakilulu flew in and embraced Lakilester in a hug.

"I knew you would do it, Lakilester!" she exclaimed, "But I take it that means your still going to travel with Mario and Luigi?"

Lakilester nodded and Lakilulu hoped he would come back alive.

"You're not going to bother correcting her about your name being Spike?" Luigi asked.

"I may just have to accept that she'll always call me Lakilester, and not any other cool name. But enough of that, you guys still need to save that Star Spirit from Huff N. Puff."

"He's right," Bow said, "Now that the sun's return. We can grow the beanstalk."

Mario wasted no time and watered the bean with Miracle Water from Lily. In a few seconds, the bean grew into a tall sprout as it even reached the clouds. At the bottom, of the beanstalk, was a leaf big enough to carry people.

"Ho ho ho! Success!" Wise Wisterwood declared, "Look at that sprout! Now you can go up to Cloudy Climb. Hmm... My spot seems to be getting less and less sunny. How disappointing."

"Don't worry, Wisterwood," Goombario reassured, "I'm sure your canopy will expand after we take care of Huff N. Puff."

"Yes, that's true. Well, best of luck to you all, my friends!"

Mario, Luigi, Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, and Sushie jumped on the leaf as it rose them to the sky. The others simply flew upwards towards Cloudy Climb. Once at the top, the decuplet was in awe of the blue sky and clouds. After some walking, they couldn't see huff  N. Puff anywhere.

"Where could Huff N. Puff be?" Sushie wondered just as they felt the cloud they were standing on shaking. All of a sudden, a giant brown cloud with red eyes and a red mouth emerged from the cloud.

"Are you two men named Mario and Luigi?" the cloud demanded, "And did you or did you not break one Puff Puff Machine?"

"Yes, we are," Mario answered, "As for the second part. We did break the Puff Puff Machine! You had it coming!"

"Had it coming? What possessed you to do that? You and your goons completely ruined my plan to cover Flower Fields in clouds. You see, I was going to turn this sunlight-blasted place into a cloud-covered paradise," Huff N. Puff explained, "But I can't expect men of your intellect to understand..."
