You heard a quiet sob coming from Dolores's room, you opened the door, quietly shutting it behind you.
“Hermosa..” You mumbled, sitting down next to her, hugging her tightly. “What is it?” You whispered.
“I'm starting to question if this is even a gift, I always hear things I don't want to hear, I-” She started sobbing louder, shaking in your arms.
You pulled her into your lap, rubbing her back.
“Your room is soundproof right?” You asked quietly, she nodded. “I just needed a break from everything. I want to be there for everyone but it's too much for me.” She said, wiping her tears.
You kissed her forehead, “I'm sorry mi amor.” She shook her head, “It's not your fault.”
You cupped her cheek, “I know, but it just.. I couldn't imagine being you- having that gift. Some of the things you heard must've been terrible.”
She nodded, laying her head on your shoulder.
“I wish I never got this gift, I would rather be giftless like Mirabel.” Dolores sighed.
You rubbed her back, “How about we do some self care, have a little you time, hm?” Dolores perked up, smiling at the idea.
The two of you were in pajamas, laughing at how ridiculous the other looked with the face mask on.
You smiled, her laugh was like music to your ears. It was enticing.
You helped her take the face mask off, being gentle with her face.
She returned the favor to you, bring overly gentle, scared she'd hurt you. “You don't have to be so tense hermosa, you won't hurt me.”
You laid in bed with her, her snuggled up closely to you. “Thank you for comforting me, mi vida.” She mumbled, hiding her face in your neck.
“Don't thank me.” You hugged her, kissing the top of her head. “Goodnight, I love you Dolores.” “I love you too Y/N.”
