50th chapter! Woo

Start from the beginning

"Uh.. yeah. I know how to do wiring holes for copper, but I think if we use electrical paint, it'll help lower the amount of holes we use. Plus, we won't have to worry about wasting the wiring with the wrong size" Peter suggested, pulling out a clean sheet of paper and writing it down.

"Electrical paint?? Does that stuff work for this kind of thing?" Harley asked.

"Yeah, I used it once for a science fair. Got second place because someone chipped the paint enough so that it wouldn't go through. They liked the idea though" Peter informed, "Personally, I think it'll just make it look better, if you know how to paint as well as you draw" he looked over at Harley, a cheeky smile on his face.

Harley smiled, breathing out as mr Burley informed the class that they'd be getting the OK for exacto-knifes the next day for cardboard sizing.

The rest of the class was just basic planning, what shape they were gonna make, it's purpose, what platforms to use and how much JavaScript the two of them together knew for setting up the frameworks, since that was the only one the school taught for beginners. That sort of thing.

Peter had gotten pretty handy with the language while working on Bloom, but Harley was better with the movement of separate pieces since that was mostly what he focused on. Peter was better with the tinkering side, and figuring things out. Harley was better for already knowing the things he wanted to use. It was the perfect match.

The rest of the school day went by pretty smoothly. He waved goodbye to Ned when his mom came by, shouting a goodbye. From there, he began entering his usual routine of waiting with all of the other teens for Peter's ride to get there.

Peter was on his way out before he felt a slight tingle on the back of his neck.

"Parker, wait up!" Harley yelled, catching up to Peter in the parking lot while he waited for his ride.

The feeling died down, but was still buzzing, almost to the point where he couldn't feel it. He took note of how different he felt than what he was used to.

"Hey" he nodded, a little more reserved than before.

Peter examined Harley's eye quietly, knowing not much change would've been made over a short period of time, unlike his own. Black eyes sucked, but Harley still looked fine even with one.

"I just wanted to know if you seriously weren't planning on showing me that scar today. I mean, seeing as you're out here and not showing me, I can tell you weren't, but I wanted to see if I could convince you before you left" he panted, tired from his jog over, "spiders are mad cool and like.. I didn't even know you could get a scar from one" he laughed, looking down at Peter.

They'd never really stood next to each other at full height before. Peter felt slightly annoyed that there was actually a height difference between them, because Harley looks like he'd be a shortie too. Guess not.

Peter sighed, and turned around, tilting his neck a bit a feeling around for the scar. It was more on his upper back, which is why it wasn't so easily spotted beneath the collars he usually wore.

He moved his finger right above the bump, looking down more so Harley could see.

"Shit, man. That thing is massive" Harley whispered, brushing his finger over it.

Peter bit the inside of his mouth, ducking further down at the touch. The hairs on his neck were more sensitive to softer touch, which was really not helping him right now.

"A spider did this?" Harley asked, leaning closer and squinting his eyes.

"Yup, Ned saw the thing. He almost cried" Peter laughed, wondering how he actually kept Spiderman hidden so long after Ned literally watched him get bitten by a vibrant children's therapy-carpet looking spider.

"Doesn't look like a spider bite though.. that's weird" he commented, making Peter nervous, "they've only got two of those bitey parts. You look like you took three" Peter never considered that, as he'd never actually gotten a good look at it.

Yknow, with it being on his back and all.

"Must've been some weird mutant spider or something" he shrugged, glad Harley couldn't see his panicked expression, "maybe it got me twice, or I just got bitten by a three toothed spider" he suggested, hoping Harley would just take it and leave it.

"You've got some wild luck you know, Parker" Harley mentioned, turning Peter back around to face him.

"Don't I know it" he mumbled, still not looking at Harley yet.

"Hey" he said, putting his arm on Peter's shoulder, "text me when you get home, we can start some of the 3D printing today to get a head start once we go over how much of the mainframe we'll need" Harley smiled, not looking as if he'd said what he wanted to say, but satisfied with the outcome.

Peter nodded, repositioning his backpack.

"Yeah.. I might be a while because my family and I have a routine set up for the new home and all, but once I'm free to go I'll get right to that" he assured, tugging on the strings of his bag.

" 'course! I'll be on my phone all night anyways, getting a text from you would just make it all the better" he winked, turning around and making his way to wherever that crazy dude went after school.

Peter sighed deeply as he watched Harley go, unsure how he was supposed to react to that.

He only had one more day of the week left to work in person to combine the ideas before they could split up their ends of the work and start at home, seeing as they both had the materials to make what they needed, instead of having to wait till Monday for the supplies the school supplied for them to kickstart with.

That meant one more day of dealing with people.

He could do that just fine.

Don't really have anything to say other than I feel like I left that off a little bit dry lol. Idk where I'm going with this at ALL

Anywhosies, I hope you're all enjoying life for the little and big things as much as you can, otherwise there will forever be only three chair legs for you to use on every seat you take. Yes, even the floor. Beware.

Love you all💛💛💛

Sincerely, someone who hopes this goes well
