"So... Peter Parker, huh?" Hearing his name caused Peter's head to snap up.

Peter looked over to Harley, who was holding up the worksheet that was on Peter's desk.

"Nice handwriting" he complimented dryly, referring to the nearly unreadable rushed writing.

Peter reached for the paper, attempting to grab it back.

Harley pulled away, grabbing Peter's arm in defense.

"Hey, I'm reading this, do you mind?" He asked playfully, pushing Peter's arm up so that Peter was leaned back into his seat.

Peter really didn't want another pre-character arc Flash, so he just rolled his eyes and retired to his previous position, ignoring the new kid's attempts to mess with him.

"Hey, hey! I didn't mean to be rude man, I just wanted to start a conversation" Harley slid the paper back onto Peter's desk, backing up with his arms raised.

"Thanks" Peter uttered dryly.

This was the first night Peter had followed the suggested sleep set up schedule for school, and his body was still so tired from it after the repetitive late nights and prolonged sleep-ins he's been gifted with for so long. He was not in the most talkable mood right now.

"Ahh, so it talks!" Harley jested, leaning back in his chair.

Peter just looked over to Eugene, hoping he would be able to interrupt this painful interaction. Anything to end the awkwardness Peter was feeling.

Eugene was watching some video on his phone.

He couldn't hear Peter's silent please! He had his air pods in!

Peter put his head down, closing his eyes.

"Sorry, sorry, I don't mean to offend" Harley apologized again, sitting up, "I'm just really bored".

Peter knew the agonizing pain of boredom from the time he spent in the tower. Yes, Tony and Stephen had tried so hard to keep him occupied, but it almost felt like staying at a grandparents house. He wanted to get out and do stuff, not lose at monopoly for the eighth time that week.

So, he decided it was a fair reason and moved on with his life.

"You know how to play sticks?" He asked, looking at Harley.

Harley shook his head.

After a quick overview, they began their first match.

Peter won.

Then their second.

Peter won again.

They got to round seven before Harley actually started complaining.

"Dude, I don't even get beginners luck?? What the heck? What kind of bull crap is this!" He asked, not being serious but certainly not taking the losses very well.

"Sounds like someone's a sore loser" Peter quipped quietly with a grin, fiddling with his pencil.

"Okay, humor me. How do you keep winning?" Harley leaned over his desk to the right, closer to Peter as if it was some big secret.

"My uncle. He was the master at this game. Taught me it when I first moved in. You'll never beat me, I know all of the tricks" he bragged, leaning back in his chair confidently.
