"No! No, not for the, uh.. the unannounced homemade hospital trip, I don't care about that. I mean— I do care about it and I am sorry for that and I'm super super grateful you would help me like that unnoticed and I will try not to do it again-" Strange gave him an impatient and concerned look "sorry. But, I feel bad for lying, you know? Like, you've been so nice to me and all that, and I kinda feel like a jerk for it.." he looked down.

"Look, kid" Stephen sighed "I'm not gonna go and pretend I know what you're going through. My parents were great, but they died when I was around your age. I don't know what you've been through, and I've got no reason to judge why you didn't tell, and neither does anyone else. In my eyes, you might just be more brave than some of the avengers" he whispered. "Don't tell anyone I said that though. That is one argument it would be best for the both of us to avoid".

Peter grinned. That wasn't the secret he was talking about, but he felt like he really needed to hear that. Also, that was an insanely nice compliment, coming from an actual avenger and all that.

Through a moment of emotional weakness, he gave Stephen a hug.

Stephen, bewildered, patted his back awkwardly. It was a nice gesture, but he really wasn't a touchy-feely guy. He still appreciated it though.

"That was really nice, sir. But uh.. that wasn't really what I was talking about. I mean, yeah, I've totally been stressing out over that and will probably continue from here on out, and what you said was super nice and will most definitely help that, but I.. gosh, how do I say this" every word that came out of his mouth felt like an embarrassment to his bloodline.

Peter and Cloakie were right next to a window, so he did was anyone would do in that situation.

He spun a bit in a circle, attaching his legs to the wall. When he pulled himself up, the line of fabric seemed to panic and reach for him. He pushed it down a bit, latching his other hand on the wall as well so he didn't have to strain so much to keep upright.

"What—" Stephen started.

"I'm Spiderman" he blurted, sitting at a 90 degree angle on the wall.

Stephen just looked at him.

Peter looked back, holding back the blatantly overprotective blanket.

Was this a bad idea?

"So your aunt was a cover—"

"No!" He yelled "That was all it's own thing, but I feel like you would notice these cuts disappearing if you were really gonna be keeping tabs on me, so I wanted you to know" he rushed in a panic, the mention of May dampening his mood a bit.

Maybe he should've said yes. it'd be a nice cover. It would also probably make the wizard stress out less. He regretted not agreeing now.

Stephen rubbed his eyes tiredly.

"Stick it to my husband to manage this" he mumbled, glancing at the kid briefly before standing up.

Peter now felt nervous. What was Stephen going to do about that? Should he actually have said that? Stephen was a doctor, right? Did that mean he was going to run a bunch of involuntary tests on him? Peter wouldn't mind a few needles to find out what was up with him, it'd probably actually be pretty cool, but what if Strange wanted to poke and prod? Doctors weren't really men of science though.. surgeons sort of passed the line but Peter would be more concerned if Stephen was one of those dudes who preformed autopsies or something. What if Stephen wanted to be one though?

He scooted up the wall a bit as the wizard approached, thoughts running through his head at a million miles an hour.

Stephen wouldn't do that though, would he? He just helped Peter.. plus, if he tried, Tony would protect him, right?
