Mmm health stuffp

Start from the beginning

"Would you.. be inclined to some anesthetics? Normally I wouldn't ask this and would just go right into it, but I've had no time to walk you through it, and it might take some time to-" Peter cut him off quickly.

"No!" Strange gave him a strange look "I mean uh.. needles. And, uh.. whatever. I hate having shots. I'd rather just stick with it and see what's happening" he tried excusing, not wanting to hint that whatever Stephen had wouldn't do anything anyways.

"Are you sure? It would be no problem, and honestly I highly recommend it. I've got 2 types available I can use on kids over the age of three. Assuming you're not 3, it should be fine. If you've used it before, you should be clear from potential allergic reactions. Plus, this is gonna hurt like hell, kid" Strange tried reasoning, but Peter wouldn't listen.

The two went back and fourth on it for a good amount of time, before Peter threatened leaving to deal with it on his own.

Peter didn't mean to snap when he did, but he could tell he got the message across when Stephen backed off.

It was a tension-filled silence, but Peter didn't care. He just wanted this over with.

Peter discovered that Cloakie didn't mind getting wet, it seemed. Water just ran right off if it like it was hydrophobic or soemthing. Peter learned this as cloakie held under running water to help slowly flake away infectious residue on the outside while Stephen prepared his tools. It hurt like a bitch, but it had to be done. Peter, while never actually getting this beat up all over in his life, had certainly held worse large wounds than this. Shouldn't be too bad, right?

Didn't help how much it hurt though.

"You're very brave you know" Stephen muttered.

Peter looked up at the validation from an adult, trying to hide a wince as the second needle went in for stitching.

"When I first saw you, I have to admit I found you a bit annoying" Stephen continued.

That made sense, Peter already knew he was annoying. Still hurt to hear out of nowhere like that though.

"I thought you just didn't care about how serious the situation was when I was helping Bruce" he's admitted, not taking note of Peter's reactions while he focused "but I might have been a bit cranky that day too. You seem like a good kid. I doubt you could fail to see the damage in that situation when you've got.." Stephen gestured to all of Peter.

Somehow that was both flattering and insulting at the same time.

"I was having a rough day then too" Peter admitted, recollecting how hard it'd been to just stay awake and upright, never mind function at a normal human level. "Sorry for making it more difficult for you".

Strange just nodded in acknowledgment.

By the time the first wound was sealed up, Peter was already feeling droopy again. Don't get him wrong, the pain was killing him, but it was also partially the only reason he was awake, minus the wizard sewing him back together like a rag doll.

"What happened, I'd you don't mind me asking?" Was the first sentence to break the continued silence.

Peter thought about it for a moment. His shit life was already out there, even Tony knew. What point was there hiding it anymore?
